my elisa test report is 1.4 and alt value is 50.what is value of elisa and alt?
You know everyone here has been so patient repeating the same thing over and over again. Bless their hearts for being so charitable. Again, with all due respect you need to see a medical provider about your anxiety and stop this behavior that must drive you crazy and make your life so uncomfortable. This is no way to live.
There is nothing to be confused about. That is why your doctor is not pursuing more expensive unnecessary testing. He is not confused.
Since your Quantative is negative, you don't need any more tests, so why waste the resources and put you through that.
Congrats on the negative PCR.
one more my pcr-rt (quantitative) is negative today.but I am still confused that why is my doctor not asking to qualitative test and ultrasound?
Smoking leads to chronic bronchitis, emphysema, COPD lung cancer and early death
Positive HCV antibody has no impact on your health you do not have hepatitis c only the antibody that is made by your body it is a part of you.
Smoking is harmful to everyone who smokes. So that would be everyone with Hepatitis C too. You can smoke. That's your choice.
smoking is harmful for positive hcv antibody human or not? if someone have hcv antibody then he can smoke?
And the screening antibody test is not that expensive and the test for the virus costs 10 times or more
In the USA, you cannot donate blood if you are antibody positive. This rule does NOT mean you have hepatitis C. They are just being 110% careful.
can I donate blood to others?
You don't have hep C so you could not have transmitted it to your wife and daughter.
attorney can't help me because uae medical lab take test hep c through elisa and doesnot take pcr test.i am leaving my education and will attempt another work in pakistan....i am 24 years.should I be test hep c to my wife and daughter.
The antibody is made by your body it is part of your bodies immune system it is not the virus. You do not have hep c there is nothing to transfer.
I was hoping I had good news about rule changes in the UAE but it seems to be much more complicated than I realized. I am sorry about how they treat people who are positive for hepatitis c antibodies test even though they are not infected with the hep c virus in your part of the world. I wish I knew more to help you with your desire to go to the UAE for employment but that is way outside my knowledge all I know about is hep c treatments and living with cirrhosis.
Is there an immigration attorney you could speak to for help?
I am married and I have one daughter.can hep c antibody transfer from me to my wife with sex?
The UAE has different requests depending on what country you are from and what country you got your medical exam and information from. One size does not fit all. There are special requirements from those coming from Pakistan. The rules have changed in recent years but if your come from a country that has certified GCC Medical Testing Centers (GAMCA): Pakistan, India, Philippines etc. there are still limitations. Your embassy is the best
place to get the requirements and what is required.
Yes, I was diagnosed in 1991 and just had successful treatment in 2013. I tried many times with various different treatment regimens. Finally the new drugs worked.
I understand that the stress of being discriminated against because of your antibody positive status is horrible. But, I can tell from the kinds of questions you are mainly asking that you are significantly concerned about the fact that you may have the virus, not just the antibody. I know from personal experience how bad this kind of anxiety can be and how it ruins happy lives. My therapist taught me in a few short weeks how to overcome these kinds of thoughts. I wish that for you as well, and that is why I recommend someone to help you with that part of your problem.
And please look at the link Flyinlynn provided for you. It looks like good news. http://m.thenational.ae/news/uae-news/health/uae-hepatitis-screening-rules-have-been-relaxed
I'm so sorry. The country you are attempting to work in has a policy to deport or detain anyone with Hepatitis. I think that you really should have a letter of explanation with your passport. You could have this attached to your international vaccination card. If your are presently in the UAE then you would need a letter of explanation from a doctor there. Any documentation outside of the UAE won't work. As you can see it says"Hepatitis." It doesn't spell out what kind. Just says nobody with Hepatitis. So a letter of understand is an important documentation with your passport documents. You have to show proof of your status.
If you can accomplish getting a letter of understanding you may have a chance of staying in the country.
I hope this helps

HOWEVER; and this is a big however, if you are coming to the UAE from a country which has the certified GCC Medical Testing Centres (GAMCA) - these include Pakistan, India, Philippines etc, you will have to go through a pre-employment medical and they DO test for HCV. If found, they stamp your record UNFIT irrespective of whether UAE will treat it that way or not. With an UNFIT, you will not get an entry permit.

tayyabahmad is from Pakistan.
tayyabahmad is a professional. An engineer who has tried to get a job in the UAE. Ran across obsticales due to Hepatitis C tests. They are trying to defend themselves against discrimination. Anyone would be stressed and have anxiety under those circumstances.
You have hcv from 1991 and now are you treatment to hcv?
When I was diagnosed in 1991 they were not doing s/co testing. The RIBA test is a confirmatory test for the antibody test. It is no longer widely used in this country as there are better confirmatory tests like the NAT and PCR. The PCR is the gold standard....it is the only test that tells you whether the virus is in your blood. All the others just tell you about the antibodies. Why do you think after everyone and your doctor tells you that you do not have HCV that you are still so concerned? I really wish, for your own peace of mind, that you would discuss this with a healthcare provider who specializes in anxiety. This is no way for you to live and enjoy life.
Flyinlynn, aworriedmom what is score of your elisa test? And what is difference between elisa test and riba test? What is normal range of alt and ast?
