hep c

Can u have a positive test and then be negative or not have anything show up later.  How is this possible.

a false/positive happens. Celabrate but still no alcohol, just in case.

Sounds like you are part of the "chosen few", if it happened to you.  I had a friend some years ago, like in 1997 and one year I saw her and she tested positive for HepC.  A year or two later, she was testing negative, great news as she is one of my favorite people that I was in rehab with.  I don't know the percentage and I don't know how the test comes up, meaning I don't know if you still show active for antibodies or if it's just a plain negative, either way you are very fortunate if it happened to you.  God Bless

It sounds as though you have a 'reactive' screening test with a low signal and a neg Riba

test.  If so, this is good news.  A neg Riba test means no antibody to Hcv is circulating in your blood stream.
