tx dear 4 da info.i realy appreciate it.infact it wasnt mine it was my cousin,n after doing elisa test it came non reactive:))GOD BLESS.
I believe you are referring to a 'weak pos' result on your screening test. That means
a signal of <3. Screening tests for hep c are very sensitive for detecting antibodies
other than Hcv. Most 'weak pos' results are neg when a more specific test such as
'Riba' or Pcr qualitative. Ask your doctor for the 'Riba' antibody test.
It is very SPECIFIC for hcv antibody only and will probably be neg if your screening
test was, in fact, a 'weak pos.' If you don't have a primary care doc, you can call
'request a test' and ask for the riba confirmatory test. Try not to worry too much.
I have a feeling your riba test will be neg.
May i ask what your risk was? Hcv is usually transmitted by intravenous drug use and
blood transfusions before 1991. Sexual transmission is possible but very rare.
Would advise refering to:

Would also recommend researching antibody articles found by NIH NLM gateway at:

Although those found at the later may be more clinical in nature.
