What does tx mean?

I do not know many of the terms used on this forum. What is tx? I do not know my viral load #. I see results for ALT,AST, etc. What would the abbrev for viral load be?

VL is often used to indicate viral load, and Tx is used for treatment--

Hi Mary,

I know; there is an alphabet soup in use here. This page should help you sort things out a little:

http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/Hepatitis/Common-Hepatitis-C-Acronyms/show/3?cid=64

This page is also available in the lower right hand side of this page in the box ‘most viewed health pages’.

Most of us request lab results from our doctors, and start a medical file to help keep track of things. It really helps communicate in here, as well as with other specialists, should the need arise.

Welcome to the discussion group, by the way :).
