What's not in the script? not continuing tx? I guess my brain isn't getting this, but I hope you aren't thinking of quitting. I have read some of your posts -- teacher, right? Started over the break. It didn't sound like you were stopping...I sure you don't bite those lil' darlin's heads off! LOL The fatique for me is the worst now. Sometimes I can barely scoop the potatoes out of the pan to eat them. I feel pretty pathetic, but this is my new job now and I do have good days. Hang in there and happy new year to you too!

You know, there are not a lot of other people I feel comfortable talking with about the ordeals of hcv, the way you feel on tx, all the bloodwork questions, the what if questions, the std questions and everything else associated with this complicated disease other than with a bunch of people from all walks of life who are in the same boat. You sure can't do it in a 15 minute appointment with doc or PA. When I talk a little bit with my family or friends I worry that I will soon glaze their eyes when I get into the various geno types, the treatment for each one of them, stages, the "that's why I am so tireds". I mean the conversation to discuss this takes a long time and I start getting the realization that this lengthy discussion is all about me, lol. But at least I know some of my friends are now asleep and will never remember the conversation and will ask me the same question on another day.

That's why it is so important to have forums like this available. We are fortunate to have a place to share the path and for some to help others down the dusty trail.

Happy New Year to you Wyn & Everyone else,

Imagine

you couldn't have put it better.  funny thing is, most friends, family, people can't/won't talk this in depth about much of anything.
thanks for sharing,

I love this forum also because you can get into specifics without the "glaze factor".  I am fortunate, though, that several people I work with have a genuine interest in my well-being and go out of their way to ask questions and really seem interested in the answers.

My family members listen but don't ask too much.  However, my ex-husband is very interested to the point I don't want to talk about it anymore.  But then again he's a "drama king".  Remember the kid in Kindergarten Cop asking Arnold S. "Do you have a tumor?"  That would be my ex.  LOL!  Always goes to the worse case scenario with every illness.

Happy New Year!

i have to be careful coz i work in public schools with hundreds of kids and you know the stigma associated with hep-c.

(yeah, sfgirl - i'm the 'teacher' but i use that term loosely.)  while i haven't had a chance to personally respond to your other posts, i've been struck by your perspective about the 'profession' as well as by some of the catch-22's you're in with regards to future pension, health insurance, tenure, etc.  what a crock of #!@!

anyway, lindy, it's all such a blur under normal circumstances (life, i mean) that what with extra doc appointments, fatigue, work, everyday maintenance, i'm usually too exhausted to talk with the few friends who want to, or maybe it's just a time issue, you know, like sex - when you're in the mood the other person isn't -
or maybe i just feel far more comfortable here.
(that drama king of yours might come in handy some day but i know what you mean about folks who wanna hear every last detail - like they're living vicariously through you - and i simply don't have the energy for any frills these days.)
this, btw, isn't one of them.  it's a comfort - plus there's no
pressure, no appointments necessary, no coordination of schedules and all the million other things required for face-to-face or phone contact.
or maybe i'm just lazy.
HNY,

Wyn! Aw...so so glad I read on and saw you are OK and are going to stick around (first few notes had me worried) and maybe once and a while (just once and a while) you can talk about those Red-tailed hawks, and Coopers, and Sharp-shinneds (or maybe it was the Harris's ?) and ....lots of other stuff too!  Yeah.  You hang in there.  It's been so nice meeting you.  It's like a friend on the other end.   We're all friends in this together! If we can't be here for each other, well then ... I just wouldn't know what to do, and I know others who feel the same.  My dog would probably learn to talk back and tell me to hush. (He's a good ole boy:)  Sigh.... yeah, the fatigue can be .. (not even a word to describe it, really.) Years of it - like a heavy hazy daze or dazy haze coming on heavier and stronger as years pass, and then it's as if you suddenly realize time is passing and you're heavier feeling and watching it all from an encapulated form you know you have to break out of, and that there's a path to walk down to make the break.  Sometimes it's like you want to push the button on the remote control and change the whole d*** picture, (and then you realize you don't watch TV :)  That's when I want to find the hawks and eagles.

Brain fart I mean fog has me kind of locked up right now on "from brain to keyboard", and so .....

A Very Happy New Year To You! I'll see you next year! One day I'll be telling ya a story about an "injection gone wrong".  Yep, got stories to hear and stories to tell and ...

Happy New Year to everyone! 2007 - a brand new year almost here.
