Hep C load coming down without any drug.

HI every body!

As you will remember my daughter underwent bone marrow transplant for thalassemia major and she was diagnosed to be HCV positive. Initially in her pre BMT checkup she underwent HCV qualitative which was negative. After her BMT suddenly her viral load started increasing.   HCV quantitative done  on 25.March 2010 was    1,21,00000 IU/ML.  HCV  quantitative done on 04 October.2010  was 14,20000 IU/ML

The latest one done on January 3, 2011 is 135016 IU/ml.  The viral load is coming down without the use of any interferon treatment and she is currently only taking Nitazoxanide and Udiliv. Her Genotype is 3a.
I will like to have your opinion on that.  Lots of love.

actually that drop can be considered insignificant  viral loads fluctuate daily  you must keep track of them and make sure its not just normal fluctuation  you need three or four significant decreasing loads to prove its coming down  hope that continues to be your daughters case

My humble opinion is that is wonderful news. A drop from 1.2 crore down to 1.3 lakh is astonishing. I have no idea how this all works, but I hope it keeps going down to zero and stays there.
