Another day in Paridise aka Florida

To all those heppers in Florida - Check in and let us know how you are.  I live on the west coast and my Mom, who lives in a mobile home, has just been ordered to evacuate.  We are expecting a tropical storm by the time Frances gets here, with sustained winds of 75 mph and about a foot or more of rain.  Lovely.  The folks on the east side are already getting the snot knocked out of them and I worry for them all.  Frances is expected to make landfall as a catagory 2 sometime during the wee hours of the morning tomorrow.

Good luck to all the Floridians on getting through this storm!
Those of you with pets: please, please, please, when this is over, get travel crates and emergency supplies for your pets, so you will never be tempted to stay in harm's way to stay with them!  It's a form of insurance, and insurance doesn't seem quite so expensive when it's there when you need it.
May H.Florence and H.Ivan both cease and dissist!

Just got power back on,(12 noon)
been out since Saturday at about 2pm.
Took a couple panels off each window to
let some light in.  Felt like I've been
in a cave since Thursday.  Several trees down
here in the neighborhood and many large branches.Still rainy and windy here in Broward, streets are flooding, but all in all, everything is fine.  My hubby just took my M-I-L back to Dade county as their evacuation has been lifted.
I hope everyone else is fine as well.
Be safe

I am right on Hernando/Pasco County line, 10 miles west of Brooksville.
Strong winds, heavy rain so far.rain is swirling like a bad case of Brain Frog(pun intended).
Wow.. major gusts of wind now. We have  3M security film on the windows so  we'll give it the  feild test.
Stay safe !
Check in  when you can.

I am just on the other side of St. Augustine...right on the St. Johns.  River is rising, wind gusts, furious clouds, etc.  Be careful!  Like you, I am not leaving.  Six cats, 2 coons and a dog...we all stay together.

Good luck to all!

I have been siting around all day, waiting with my flippers and a snorkel.....nowhere to go.. It sucks!!! Rain, WIND, and lots of WIND!! Lots of down trees in my yard, alot all around neighborhood, and it hasn't even made landfall.. They are saying, it is going to get worse, can't wait!! I am sooooo damn tired of being locked up in my boarded up prison, watching the news, for any signs of relief..We already ate all the damn supplies, and had to ride over to my mother in laws for dinner. Just got back, and had two more trees down in my front yard..Damn!!!Your right, just another day in paradise, and I can't even drink!!!Best of luck to everyone!!

Hey everyone,
I'm in Tampa and so far so good. A couple of squalls, showers and we're just waiting it out. Gotta say I don't like doing my shot and then having to "battern down the hatches". Second time in 3 weeks, putting up shutters, moving all our plants and the lawn furniture with the lovely interferon aches. This was afterhaving to go in and secure equipment at work.

Oh well, I would gripe anyway. Here's hoping everyone comes through safely. Keep your heads down, I'm praying for us all (ermm.... if that's ok that is).

kendog - please be safe and ready to run to a safe site. I was on an assistance team down to Charlotte County after Charlie and it was bad. Take care.

I live in Palm Coast, 30 miles north of Daytona. I live in a mobile home in a low area east of the inter-coastal. Was supposed to evacuate, but my cat don't like to ride in the car. Just breezy and no rain yet.
