Your ALT/AST scores are a bit higher than normal - but any number of unexplained issues can cause that... Usage of Motrin, Ibuprofen - Tylenol - certain foods... etc.

However, that being said --- I thoroughly believe in getting a HEPATITIS PANEL SCREENING.

I also think you should ask your doctor to run any other tests - and to check back on your AST ALT scores.

I don't know how serious those scores are --- because everything is relative to the health of your body - your symptoms and your signs.

Talk to your doctor - and if he/she seems unconcerned - and refuses to provide you a HEP Panel - seek another doctor.

I'm not saying that you have HEPATITIS - but I believe EVERYONE should be tested every 2 years.

My justification? It took doctors over 2 years of a plethora of tests and treatments to determine that I had HEPC.

Just because they did not run a HEP panel -because I have NONE of the RISK factors.

(married, no drugs, tested neg in 92-93, no blood transfusions, etc.)

so - get it checked - but don't panic... Even if they come back positive.

And if they do come back positive - come back here to get more information ---- There is a wealth of information to be had here amongst this group of highly knowledgeable people.

Good luck!
