Sounds good I agree .Thanks so much
My doctor and the specialty pharmacist said the the calcium carbonate based antacids are fine to take. I have not researched the content of all antacids, but the ones I take are the chewable calcium carbonate based antacids (they look like TUMs) Read the label to be sure the ingredient is calcium carbonate. As a precaution, I did not take them close to my medication times although I was told it was okay. (I like to be on the safe side, lol.)
Some antacids are contraindicated because they bind with the meds and then you don't get the full effect of your Hep C meds. I would stay away from liquid antacids such a Maalox, Mylanta, Gelucil, etc. as they contain aluminum hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, and simethicone and may affect absorption.
Thanks for the prompt reply . You are so nice to help us all.

but you should check with your doc always...
My paperwork from my doctor I got yesterday says an over the counter antacid is ok.
I'll wait for those with more knowledge than me to answer, but if I recall correctly, an over the counter antacid was fine, according to my husband's doctor.
