Ok so I'm on triple therapy and I really screwed up. I'm a little embarrassed to tell the doctor I was soo stupid but anyway. I just started week five of treatment soo just started my victrelis and I got soo caught up on taking them on time I totally forgot about the rib. It's now Thursday and I'm almost a week behind. How badly did I screw up my chances of success ?
I was on incivek instead of victrelis. But I started with viral load of 4 1/2 million it is now negative ay 14 weeks. Did 12 weeks of incivek. Still hv 33 weeks out of 48 weeks left on pegasts and ribavirin. Its a tough road but u can do it.
Missing two days of Riba is not that bad - not compared to a whole week! I was so unorganized during the PI phase. I double dosed so many times all the while thinking I was on track.
One of the things that I did when my husband began triple tx: I bought him a new cell phone (a fairly inexpensive one) that had medicine alarms (pill reminder) on it. I could take a picture of the med, set the time, and write a note with the instruction. These were each different for the different meds throughout the day, and they were programmable for every day, once a week, etc., as appropriate. An alarm would beep and a picture of the med he needed to take with a note with any reminders popped up. I don't think we could have kept it all straight without that phone.

Thank u everyone for your help as it turns out I only ended up missing two days of the ribiviron. Still not good but better than one week. My viral load has gone down significantly as well from over one million to around eight thousand. Ive been having some problems with my white blood cells dropping to quickly though. Going for more blood work tomorrow to try and figure out what's going on.Also I did tell the doctor about my missed doses and have since set an alarm on my phone. In the morning I take my first dose then put the rest in my purse for the day. Now no more mistakes!!!
Hopefully your being treated by Doctor that is really up to speed on Victrelis, as its quite clear one should never take it without the Riba. I have read nothing where they say its not a problem because of the half life of Riba. Besides that you did it while just starting the Vic. Theres the resistance issue here that good cause you problems with treating again, so you really need to find out before that would come into play... Good luck
Yeah, I researched this one once, and the Interferon has a shelf life of 72 hrs, and the ribaviran is twice as long, as in 144 hrs. After that, it weakens down, but stays in the system for months, like the poster above has mentioned.
Tell your Doctor what happened right away. The Ribaviran is most important, the first 12 weeks, so all you can do is get back on asap, and everytime you take your victrelis (every 8 hrs) take 3 of yr riba then(if you are on 1,200 riba). There is no room for mistake when taken this way.
I put my riba in this calendar box pill container, with each day of the week, in a square section, for 30 days. This way, you can count how many riba pills are in the day you are on, to avoid furthur confusion.

Fortunately out of the three drugs riba is the one with the longest half life. It actually stays in your system for more then a month or two.

Not good. RIBA stays in your system for a while, some have had to stop it for a while. Hopefully you will still make it.
I had to set timers for each dosing time on my phone and set up weekly pill box containers with all of my doses. I still messed up a few time. The meds are working against you on that, your memory will not be great on these drugs. Would suggest maybe trying the pill boxes with a week at a time so you can see the missed doses when they happen.

If I understand correctly you have not taken your Riba for a week?
If that is the case then the only thing you can do is start taking it right away again
it is never ideal to interrupt any of the meds .however hopfully because Riba has such a long half_life this will not affect your treatment,however that will remain to be seen
What was your viral load at the end of the 4 week lead -in,,if UND. the consequences of this may be lessened.
Also, I would certainly tell you doctor about any missed meds.
