I don't have sores, but I burned my tongue with hot coffee and it was painful for a full 24 hours, which is very odd. I do think the tonque is more sensitive on tx.
I has the sores extremely badly while I was ON treatment and they were caused by the interferon. It's actually common.
The reason that I mention this is you will have to be particularly careful about it when you (if you) decide to treat. You will have to be extremely careful to keep your mouth as germ free as possible (sounds ridiculous doesn't it) by using pro-actively mouth wash and things like that.
The dumb tongue sores were one of the most painful things I ever went through, you really will have to be very careful.
I have just learned from my doctor that there are alot of symptoms that people can develop from just having Hep C. I fequently get a sore mouth that makes it hard to eat or drink. Several times I actually had yeast infection which was treatable. With Hep C are bodies have a poor immune sx which can cause people to develope alot of different medical issues. Take care Johnie. Was glad to see you were still with us. I hope your hollidays were filled with many blessings.
Hi I;m not on treatment and am 3a since 84 low viral load. I did have a tongue pimple thing happening a week before xmas and now I have a mouth ulcer. I have been eating pineapple and stone fruit and other Xmas fare non stop and think that might be the cause rather than the HepC. I'm thinking the joint and muscle pains might be from all the extra physical work I've been doing round the house for the holidays instead of my usual office captivity. I think that is why I am bruising more as well. It's hard not to wonder whether every ailment may be Hep C related but I'm sure there are many people without it who also have these sort of problems.
