lab results for genotyping and viral loads

Hi everyone!  Just diagnosed with Hep C last tuesday during routine bloodwork.  My doctor said he needed to check the viral loads and genotyping.  So they took more blood.  That was last tuesday and today will make it 7 days since I have heard from the doctor.  How long does it normally take for the physician to receive the lab test results for this?  Thank you and everyone have a great day!

Thanks Coeric!  I called last Friday and they said they haven;t received them yet.  I just am anxious I guess.  They said they would call as soon as they hear something.  I assume I am NOT their only patient....lol.  Thanks again and take care!

it's been a couple of years since i ran the genotype, so i cannot say for genotype. probably the fastest turnaround for viral load is the labcorp 550080. i got my result in a little over 48 hours in colorado. ran the test monday morning and got the fax result wednesday about noon.  it has been reported here that other viral load tests talk up to 10 days.  you could call your doc's office and see if the tests are complete. make sure you get copies.
