needle disposal

I guess this is common knowledge because I haven't seen it posted here before.
I just did shot 48. What do I do w/ the big container of empty syringes?
(sorry about the lack of enthusiasm about finishing TX, but there is no energy
left --I am worn out.)

I was on tment 3 years ago and and lasted only 3 months and i actually took them to my local hospital to dispose, as far as putting with local trash, that is definately not something I would encourage.

My doc told me just to wrap up and put in household trash.  I did not take that route though, I took them back to the docs office and disposed of there.  I am sure any hospital, health department or docs office would take care of for you.

Good question.  I was wondering the same thing.  Mine not only has the inf syringes but also the ones from the shots that were given to my horses.  My friend is a retired vet tech and I bought the shots and she gave them, saved me a bundle of money too.

I know CA has new regulations for disposal of syringes.  I'm not sure which agency pushed for the legislation or if it's being enforced.  I am sure that it's safe to say that any hospital or doctor's office that you are connected with would be a safe place to take your used ones.

My Doc told me to bring my small disposal boxes to him when they are full and just throw my small box into his very large one.  I never asked - I just assumed all patients on tx did that.

Congratulations on finishing the marathon!!!

Good question, I've been wondering the same thing.  Had decided to take mine into the clinic when finished.

I consider them a bio-hazard and wouldn't put them in my rubbish, who knows what leaches into the soil and ends up back in the eco-system.  I'm talking about the interferon residue here rather than any dried blood etc.

Wishing you SVR, enjoy!

Congrats on fisnishing tx. My Doctor took them, ive also heard your local fire department will. And some have saif they were told to tape it up real good and put it with your trash pickup. Would check about that though. Hears wishing SVR and a speedy recovery.

Call your Pharmacist --- or doctor.

Most doctor's offices will take them when full.
