I don't think it matters when the procrit is done. I think the reason is that the ribavirin - the usual culprit in causing anemia - builds up in the blood stream and there is not a significant difference in the ribavirin blood level.  Also, since you take riba 2x a day, it would be hard to avoid dosing and counteracting with the procrit.

uncledudness - that certainly is a lot of procrit.  Is it helping?

pcds - My doctor (last time) said to take the neup at least 24 hours after the interferon but I tried googling this and didn't come up with a whole lot.  The text I give the web address for was the best thing I found and it has to do with cancer chemotherapy drugs and the use of neulasta (similar but longer lasting than neupogen) .  It is a good article -- they wanted to know if it was more effective to do the neulasta the day after the chemo which was protocol when it meant having the patient - on the day he feels the worst, the day after chemo -  come back to the hospital for the shot.  There was a difference but it was not significant.  They still suggest the 24 hours is better, but it may not make a big enough difference to matter.

I take neupogen on Thursday, peg on Friday and procit on Monday.  I let all the drugs come to room temperature and lately inject in my belly because my legs are so sore.  I also inject very slowly.  I have not experienced the burning sensation and hope I can avoid that "joy."

The safety and efficacy of NEUPOGEN® given simultaneously with cytotoxic chemotherapy have not been established. Because of the potential sensitivity of rapidly dividing myeloid cells to cytotoxic chemotherapy‚ do not use NEUPOGEN® in the period 24 hours before through 24 hours after the administration of cytotoxic chemotherapy.
