As hrsewrguy says.....slim to none. But probably not zero or impossible. How do you know you had a cut on the back of your neck?
There are no stats on the scenario described, IMO chances are slim to none, if your worried get tested....
Have a great day
A mosquito biting you doesn't cause transmission, because blood doesn't come back out from its needle-nose...
But this mosquito did not bite me. I smashed him on my neck, blood that was inside him splattered out, and it was on top of a cut i had on my neck from earlier. Want to know if the blood survives inside the mosquito, so if it were smashed out of it, would it still be infectious. I appreciate your attempt at helping though.
From that page:
Can a person get Hepatitis C from a mosquito or other insect bite?
Hepatitis C virus has not been shown to be transmitted by mosquitoes or other insects.
I guess I do not understand what you are asking. Sorry.
That info only talks about transmission from a bite :/
I'm wondering if the blood released from the mosquito, if it were from an infected person, remains infectious after having been inside the mosquito.
You are right, my pc will not let me cut and paste do to the certificate so I will write it out for you, sorry about that!
www.cdc.gov/hepatitis/c/cfaq.htm
Try that, alot of info!
That link doesn't seem to be working :/
I said I understood that bites don't transmit it because of the way the mosquito's saliva/blood tubes or whatever work...
But I'm worried that he was smashed and there was visible red blood on a cut on my neck. So i wanted to know if the blood is still infectious after it is inside the mosquito.
this a link from the CDC:

And you have a very fitting screen name! Actually you answered your question in your first sentence! Please do not worry about Hep C so much, you have many more things to be afraid these days. You are missing out on the nice things in life by worrying about something that will not and can not happen! Good Luck to you and maybe the article will help answer some of your questions.
Also, I was not bitten my the mosquito beforehand...
