Hello! No worries...If you accidentally inject into a blood vessel, the worst that will happen is you'll feel the effect of the Peg sooner, and it may irritate the blood vessel...In the "old days" there was a risk of getting foreign matter (undissolved medicine bits) and larger air bubbles into a vessel...The drug ppl want it injected subcutaneously so it's absorbed slower, and has less immediate side effects...it's pretty much goof proof now...If you start to get a bruise in the future, apply an ice compress and a bit of pressure to the area for 5 mins...Good luck with your treatment!
Hi there! I had bruising with every injection. I was told to expect it and indeed it happened everytime. In my experience, normal. Don't worry. I never pulled back on the plunger either. My docs. said the bruising is normal. Good luck with your treatment, hang in there, it only gets easier from here.
That happened to me 2 weeks ago. I still have a bruise the size of a silver dollar. I'm not co-ordinated enough to inject, pull back, test, etc. I'm in my 14 week of treatment. I say just go for it and hope for the best! Good luck to you.
I can relate....its hard enough just giving yourself the injection! The top of the syringe is so small its hard to hold onto it and do all this stuff at the same time. I tend to move the needle around allot when trying to pull back first. Took my 11th shot tonight. Good luck to ya trinty....you'll get better at it as time goes by!
Thanks for letting me know. I guess I've tried to go by the book but as time goes by my attitude is like - "just get er done"

I never do either! I'm like, 'I wouldn't want to waste the interferon if I pulled back the plunger and saw something I didn't like...,I'd just inject it anyways.'
