post hep-c treatment effects

I had type 1-a hep c  for 40 years. Did the 48 week inter-ribo cure and finished 3 years ago. Virus free now.
I have had bad cluster migrains on rside of head, tendonitis, numb toes, trouble sleeping. My family doc ran some tests and says I have elivated herpes 6 virus and wants to put me on valcite. Any body have any thoughts.
I'm not real hot on the idea of putting more stuff in my system...

Thanks

Thanks for that. I was feeling like a hypochondriac. I wonder what the
percentage of folks is that don't end up with all these issues?
Now any thing that goes wrong I'm thinking it'd from the treatment.
Cheers

I don't know about your other symptoms, but insomnia seems to be a pretty common post-tx side effect. The numbness in my toes post-tx turned out to be peripheral neuropathy related to diabetes. Have your blood sugar checked and don't settle or a dx of 'borderline' diabetes or 'pre-diabetes'. Find out for sure if you are insulin resistant.

Human herpesvirus 6

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_herpesvirus_6

"Human herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6) is one of the eight known herpesviruses that infect humans. HHV-6 is a double stranded DNA virus within the betaherpesvirinae subfamily and is of the genus Roseolovirus. The virus infects almost 100% of the human population all over the world.......

Reactivation
The specific triggers for reactivation are not well understood. Some researchers have suggested that injury, physical or emotional stress, and hormonal imbalances could be involved.......
There are no drugs approved specifically for treating HHV-6 infection. Although, the usage of Cytomegalovirus treatments...have shown some success...There are clinical trials in using IFN to treat the virus but tends to work only before the virus is reactivated."
