I'm just catching up with MH - been veggin in my own little world of peg/cop meds for awhile - and while i admit my heat hurt when reading the post about jmjm and goofball leaving (breaking my heart guys - don't go) then i read this light, funny, wholesome post and i'm happy again.

I too have the 7 day AM/PM Roche container. Fortunately I don't forget to take my riba often (only forgot once since tx started, but only on week 24/48 so who knows whats to come). My trick to remebering when to take them, is to see how I feel. Whenever I start actually feeling better (no tummy woes, aches or pains) then I remember to take the riba. The way I see it, is as long as I feel like **** then I must have taken the riba. Might work for all of you who forget despite the cute little containers they give us.

GOD BLESS
"...I'll feel the bulge and remember to take them..."
Always seems to take my mind somewhere else. It's so, so, sad :(
if you go for the Pegasys, Roche will mail you a package that includes a pill box with removable compartments, that have AM and PM boxes for 7 days a wk. They helped a lot once I got them. Since guys don't carry purses, I don't know if it will work as well.
"Since guys don't carry purses, I don't know if it will work as well"
Here we go again. First we're insensitive, so we dust off strator's poetry. Now we got no purses and I gonna dust off my lam
I like a Girly-Man myself, who cares what Arnold thinks. I thought a pill box would do, but now I'm thinking for a you a Pill Box Hat? Brand new leopard skin pill box hat! We have sooo much in common, I love a nice sling-back.
I too got a pill box M-F from my study clinic. Yes it is very helpful. Somedays I forget what day it is so what I do is when I take my pills I leave the top opened untill I take the next dose, close the previous one and leave the one I just took open. I was refilling my pill box last week and noticed I did not take one of my Riba pills! Took 2 of them and left one in the box???? TOO weird. Figured it would not hurt to miss 1 pill. Right?
Also I am having alot of shortness of breath. Went to a play last night (Wicked, it was GREAT! Opening night)and found I could not climb a set of steps, got really winded! Going down was no prob but up was a B***H! Took ibeprophen before I went out for the pain in my legs. Also my sweetie has had a real bad cold this week and it has settled in his chest. NO KISSING! :( Trying to avoid his cold but I have been sneezing since yesterday and runny nose. No more public events? Bummer......Put a call into my coordinator to see waht she thinks.
Set for flu shot on the 4th of Nov......hope it's not 2 late as the flu shot takes 2 weeks to kick in!
Take care all!

I got the AM PM pill box from Roche with my Pegasys "Welcome Kit" and I love it. I keep it out on my counter where I can see it. Cuteus, if I put it in my purse -the black hole - I would probably never remember. My trigger is breakfast and dinner - works every time.
But Goof, I am amazed that the service is so reasonable. Pretty cool

What's a man purse? You mean wallet? Put the capsules in my wallet? So when I sit on them I'll feel the bulge and remember to take them. Brilliant!
I take 20 pills a day, some vitamins some rx meds and I use one of those little containrs that are marked M-S, I always keep two of the containers filled and leave them next to the coffee pot a reminder to take them...I have on several occasions forgot whether I took them or not, and had to look at the containers, most of the time I remember though....
I would never be able to justify paying for a device to remind me...Unless of course it was device that reminded my heart to beat if I forgot to live LOL
*the dip*
could be you have a one track mind goof.
Are you implying there's more than one? Facinating.
I just tried the caps in my wallet, there's a problem with white powder. I wouldn't want to get stopped by the police right now.
Well at least he won't be staring at the buldge! There's some comfort to be found there.
Yeah I don't think it would've worked anyways. My butt would've gotten used to the bulge and forgotten to remind me. Kinda like my head's in my ass these days.
The girls really have a lot easier.
more room for their heads?
{laughing , ducking, and running for cover....}
I started out with seven detachable "AM/PM" boxes each marked with the day of the week. Later, when I became anemic early in tx, I added a dedicated notebook where I would log every pill immediately after taking it. My mind was so fried and memory so short, that I actually would not take the pills until the notebook was open and the pen in hand. That was then.
Now, I throw the pills in my pocket when I leave the house but often forget and take them right from the bottles. I constantly find riba when emptying my pockets. Somehow, I think I haven't missed riba. When I think I do, I double up. No wonder I'm on 60,000 u/week Procrit. :)

DISCLAIMER: NONE OF US ARE DOCTORS HERE. THAT MEANS WE WILL ACTUALLY TAKE THE TIME TO LISTEN TO YOUR QUESTIONS.
I found a pill container at Target called Med-Sun. It's much cooler looking then the geeky things they give away in baskets at the pharmacies. It comes in a transparent lime green, grape purple, pink and I think orange. Anyway, It's 7 vertical tubes--one marked for each day and about the size of a lipstick (OK guys--chapstick) that all fit neatly into a container. I like it because 1) I can throw one of the tubes in my pant pocket on days when I might get home very late, 2) because they are transparent and I don't have to open them up to do a med check. and 3) because the standard ones just make me feel like such a cranky old sterotyped senior citizen and I'm just not ready to go there yet.
I'm going to start paring back other things first, like birthday cards, showers, maybe even paying bills. Easy enough to blame it on my situation. But I suppose if it gets to the point where I can't remember to do the things that cause me to forget to do the things I'm suppose to do then I'll have to look at your solution.
Crazy but true.
The two or three times I was in doubt about taking my riba, I just decided to err on side of safety and take it again. All three times there was no doubt that I did not forget. Six riba pills within an hour or so is quite the rush. :) One less expensive system is to start the day with all your daily meds in one of those little AM/PM containers. It won't make you remember to take them, but at least you will be able to tell if you have.

Sorry to say, I've had to return home to see if I took my RIBA, get out of bed to see if I took my RIBA, etc. Turns out I always had, but this would lighten that load. It's just right there at the high end of cost scale for me. 10 - bucks, I'd go for it. $60 - no way! $35 - hmmmm.
