Edema Cont. After Triple TX. Stopped

At end of 19 weeks of triple therapy I had to stop meds due to severe side effects that would not go away, one being swelling of scalp, face, neck, ears, hands & feet.  So severe scalp has peeled twice.  Hands & feet skin have now began cacking, bleeding and sloughing off.  My scalp is highly sensitive again, like it was before my hair started falling out and itchy.  I amgetting little bumps again.  I at times hear the swish swish of my carotid arteries due to the swelling in my head/ears and it wakes me up at night.  My ear canal openings are almost swollen shut making  a perfect environment for bacteria growth in ear canals.  The swelling increases while I sleep supine and decreases a little by evening while I am prone.  The degree of edema has not decreased even though I have been off my meds going into the 2nd week.  My Pulse is in the 90's and b/p is high (I have always had low of both due to being in physical shape)
I have other side effects that have returned like the blotchy rash.  The edema most concerns me.
How long after stopping treatment can I expect the side effects to continue?
Thank you for any insight you can share.

i had to stop tx at 19 weeks....i had very tough sx throughout tx...it took me 6 weeks post to get over sx....keep drinking water.......at the end of 6 weeks post i felt so much better...the constant ringing...headaches...even the rash started to go away....when i stood up post tx my bp would drop 40+ points...i went down often....this i will say.............i feel great now over a year post...i'm finally getting back to cardio....just started....it took a good 3 months post to feel pretty good but more like 6 months post to feel almost normal....i would be careful not to get too anxious.....for many of us who did tx it takes time to feel good...and with your sx your body is so worn out....so beat......a family member of mine got into a bad motorcycle three weeks ago..he has years to recover or try to recover....i'll bet in 4 weeks you start to feel better....good luck......billy

i did 48 weeks of triple with incivek and had rash and edema throughout treatment.  i am 22 weeks post treatment and still have a little edema but it is getting better.  for many years i experienced outer ear infections and the primary care docs put me on antibiotics which may have contributed to progression into cirrhosis.   i went to the most respected ENT in my town, and he told me to put 3 drops of ordinary white vinegar in each ear canal every night.  apparently the vinegar makes the ear canal acidic which stops the growth of harmful bacterial.   that was about 7 years ago and i have not experienced an outer ear infections since.  i have since slacked off and only put the vinegar in about once a week.

What does your treating doctor say and what are they doing to manage your symptoms?

Cheers!
