It would be great if a CBC did detect hep c. There wouldn't be nearly as many people dying from not being treated. Unfortunately, unless they look specifically for the antibodies, they will never know it is there, so as Bill says, you have to ask for that test to find out.

No, a CBC (Complete Blood Count) doesn’t look for HCV at all. A person has to specifically request screening for Hep C. If you believe you’ve been recently exposed, it takes a couple of months for antibodies to develop and become detectable in the blood.
