Could some one please tell me what this means. I am new to this forum but I have been through TX twice. I was scheduled for my 12 month viral load test in Feb. but with the new Obama care my insurance will be canceled the 1st of Jan. and I am not sure if I will have coverage by then so I had my GP do the test early. I did not get to talk to him today he told his nurse that the viral load was high but he said once before and my liver Doc. said it wasn't. I tried to get in touch with his assistant but couldn't. I am assuming that I no longer have a SVR but not sure. Thanks for the help.

Thanks to everyone for the support and comments. Due to my perpetual bad luck I was expecting a bad outcome so I was not upset to find that I had a positive viral count. Disappointed yes. but thanks to y'all I do feel better knowing that it could be a false positive. You would think that a year after my last test that showed negative that if I did relapse it would show higher than 250 IU. I had my GP redo the teat last Fri. I am sure it will go through the same lab. This is really just to give me an idea of what type of insurance policy to get if I do need to retreat I will want to buy something with a low deductible and out of pocket expense. If it looks like I have a SVR then I can go with a policy that is less costly and has higher cost parameters. I am sure that my liver doctor will want to do his own test in February when I see him anyway. Thanks Again!!!!!

I don't want to come across as raining on everybody's parade, but when I was told that I was SVR24, they couched it by saying that that meant that statistically, I had a 1% chance of relapse.

So definitely get that retest, maybe thru a different lab?

Sense you were und at 6 months post then I would bet it is a lab error of some sort so try not to stress it to much. It would be very unlikely you have relapsed after 6 months und... Hang in there.

Hi Tommy...just wanted to say that has got to be a lab error.  There have been many lab errors on the forum.  Just get a re-check...most of all have a SVR Xmas and New Years!

Yes I had a test a 6 months post treatment and had a SVR. I think I finished treatment at the end of june 2012. So I think my first post treatment viral load test was a little more than 6 months. I think I will retest now since I have meet my deductible and as I said due to the Obama care the high risk pool insurance group that was available in my state will not be offered any more since companies can't discriminate against prior conditions. So I may not have coverage in place when my actual test is due with my liver doc in Feb. but I also need to know if I am going to have to TX again I want to chose an insurance that has a low total out of pocket cost. Thanks for the words of support and and I will keep my fingers crossed that it was a lab error. At least if I do have to re treat my Doc. says the next new stuff is not very bad. Merry Christmas!!!

I agree with what Can-do-man said.

I do have a question though. Did you have a viral load test done at the end of treatment and then again at 24 weeks or 6 month after finishing treatment? If you did, were they Undetectable?

It looks like you are 10 months post end of treatment. As Can-do said, normally at 10 months or a year post end of treatment, if you had a viral load, it would be much higher. Can you get a retest to verify the results. Maybe this was a lab error or a lab mix-up.

Here's hoping this was a lab error.

The test shows you have a viral load of 270. The HCV log10 value is just another way of saying it... This is a really low viral load. You are correct if the test results are right you are not SVR.

But if your 12 months post treatment I would really question these results as this would be a very low viral load... Lab errors do happen. Wishing you the best
