I too am in this same tial. In addition I had to go and get an eye exam. So far I did shot 4 today and things are going ok. Hoping to be RVR by week 4 tests. All I can say is you might want to start drinking lots of water now to et used to it. The riba will dry you out and cause problems if you don't stay hydrated. i drink 1/2 my body weight in ounces per day.
Stay in touch lots of good advice here..

I am in this trial with the drug r05024048 right now.My baseline viral load was close to 4 million,it is now after 2 weeks down to 197.I don`t know if I am getting the drug, but it maybe the new drug that is helping me.The screening is ekg for your heart, drawing blood ,checking your weight, and checking your urine.I almost didn`t get in because my creatine level in my urine was low, whatever that is.I have heard this new drug is getting very good results.Good luck,I hope you get in.And keep posting.
I was in the last boceprevir trial. Like epiphiny says, it is to get a baseline and suitability. It's all pretty standard in trials and would be a good idea for most people starting TX, too.
To be honest interferon can cause bizarre problems like lung damage, heart palpitations, etc. Not too common, but it happens. Having the initial chest x-ray and ekg let them go back and repeat the tests and compare them to your originals so they know that, if you start coughing or something, those problems are just allergic reactions to meds and not real problems that must be addressed. They will want to be sure you don't have autoimmune disorders, unrelated blood disorders, etc. The screening is for your safety and for cleaner data for them. You will be allowed to be out of range on some things but they have guidelines on how far out-of-range is acceptable. Don't worry about it. Screening is a good thing for both you and them.
Hi there,
I was on the Phase One rial of this drug (also known as R7128) and achieved UND by 4 weeks and SVR in October last year. This drug is very promising, I hope you will get on the trial.
The screening process is pretty straightforward and is to make sure that you don't have any conditions that would make you unsuitable for the trial and to get all your baseline counts ie: Viral Load, Hemoglobin, Platelets etc. These numbers will be used to chart your progress when/if you begin the trial.
All the best for tomorrow and please let us know how you get on.
