viral load please help

Hi Guys need your help trying to understand this:

My friend is on  the trial his vl load at start was 6.4

At 4 weeks it says:  HCV RAN 14400  log 4.16

Two questions or clarifications:

1:  he hasnt cleared yet correct?
2. He did drop 2 logs?


any help please

4.16 log iu/ml entered as such on scientific calculator.  Hit the INV button -  then the log button and it appears as 14454.

You're right.  6.4 log ul/ml  =  2,250,000 ul/ml.  When I figured the log drop I thought Rita was saying baseline was 6,400,000 and that's where I got the 2.65 log drop.  When I figured it again there wasn't that much difference between the 2 numbers and her friend did get a 2 lg drop so I didn't post back with a correction.

im trying to make sense of what ur saying here.  if    6.4 log is equal to  2,250,000.   how is    4.16 log equal to 14,400.  im sure im missing something but not sure what. tks

Number wise; the start (6.4 log) was about 2,250,000.  Now; 14,000.  Good progress, not clear yet.

No, your friend has not cleared.  The log drop is 2.65 based on the 4.16 log IU/ml you provided.
