I overdid it on Ibuprofen, and I ended up having ringing in my ears (I was taking an 800mg tablet 2-3, sometimes 4 times a day.

It has been a couple of weeks since my doctor advised me to stop with the Ibuprofen, and since then the ringing has mellowed out quite a bit.   I am just dealing with the headache/bodyaches for the most part now, if it gets really bad I do take some Tylenol (over the counter), just not a lot of it.

On weekends I might take a vicoden, but I am unwilling to take that daily because I don't want to become adicted.  And, it is kind of hard to work when I take that.  (If I had a job just floating around and not really doing anything, then I could).

I'm not saying not to take Ibuprofen (It is harder on your kidney than your liver), but do be careful not to over do it like I did.  I was really worried that the ringing in my ears was going to become permanent.

There are other things that cause the ringing, my doctor said that the Wellbutrin that I'm taking for depression also causes it, and maybe that combined with the Ibuprofen is what caused the ringing.  I'm just glad that has eased up.

I was given Tylenol w/codiene recently for pain(300 mg every 4 hours). Doc said it was okay to take even though I have Hep C.

Shane try Motrin/Ibuprofen with the Tylenol.  Alternating the meds. I find 400 enough for me.  When it is really bad if within 2 hours of no relief, then I will take Tylenol (Don't over do Tylenol).
It really is true drinking a ton of water helps.  The medicine dehydrates your body really bad and drinking a lot of water helps. I try for about 75 oz a day.  When I don't drink it I feel worse. Sounds simple but it works.
I had the hair thing too, still do. Don't wash your hair very often.  Just rinse it and use something moisturizing on your scalp. The hair things ***** big time. It's gotten better for me, but i swear every time I shampoo it, then it seems to hurt again.
hang in there, you'll make it.  Drink your water!

Sorry Shane, I think the Norco is probably overdoing the medication for you. I was precipitious in recommending it.

Hi Shane. I know how you feel. I didn't have so much trouble with the shot but I had constant headache throughout the 48. I had to get a MRI and try a bunch of other stuff before my GP gave me Norco. Darvon worked a little for a little while. Norco worked really well, but you have to be concerned about addiction. I'm 3 months past tx and just weaned myself off it completely. The doctor was concerned about too much tylenol so I was taken off vicodin and put on the norco. Good luck.
