Any News?

Good morning family!

Well just got back from my visit with my HIV Dr., and all numbers are still good.  The HCV VL number was rising, but I expected it to now that I finished treatment.  The AST and ALT were slightly out of range but not dramatically.  I have my appt with my HCV Dr. , Dr Lennox Jeffers of the University of Miami Eugene Schiff's group, on Feb. 26th so I will let you know how that goes as he wants me to retreat again with weight based ribavarin, daily infergen, and throwing into the mix Alinia.  I am looking to retreat probably beginning the last part of April.  That treatment plan will be for, I believe he said, for about 4 months so you'll be getting updates more often once I begin.  Anyway my original question to begin with was has there been any update on Vertex 950?  If I'm not mistaken, I could've sworn I read something that the FDA was looking for approval this spring.  Has anyone else read that?  Hope all are well......stay safe and blessed.

Yours in Christ,
R

hello my brother...
I have a response (from way back) in my draft folder...you'll get it this weekend. I heard good stuff w/Jeffers. My dr. wants me to sign a release for Alinia. I gotta do more research..I guess. I'm concerned about doing it now and then becoming resistant???
Anyhow, i'll be in touch.
Always good to hear from you.

It's good that you're going down to UM. And I liked that guy. The potential tx you wrote about sounds interesting, but the four months sounds a bit short. Interested to hear what he lays out for you.   We've read many speculated dates for VX and I don't think any of them are before 2010, but who knows.  If it turns out to be Infergen check back here because several people have experience with it.  Good luck, Rick
