This is very old post
A very, very old post
I am taking 100% natural tablets, Naturalmax Enerix and Vitalix for colon cleanse. These are very good, I feel much better since I've been taking them. Try this to feel lighter, have more energy and lose weight:)
Antman: "...they knock you out nowadays so you don't even feel it."
One-by-one, they keep carving away at life's little pleasures. First the invention of Beano, next the waxing salon, and now this....
Any opportunity to use the word coloscopy, thanks. Following the receipe for colonoscopy prep will get you clean as a whistle, without a doubt. Although not the funnest thing in the world, you arrive at the point that you are so cleaned out that if you were in a dark room, you could point a flashlight down your throat you can actually do shadow puppets out your rear. I'd agree that it's probably a good thing to 'clear the pipes' once in a while and there are conventional methods that are readily available to use like fasting, liquids, foods, OTC liquids and pills. Use caution there's some stuff that produced and processed in your body that's got reason and benefit. A fire hose does not come to mind.
Johns Hopkins on colon cleansing:
Johns Hopkins Health Alert
Johns Hopkins doctors advise against colonics because of concerns about the potential for side effects.
Do most diseases begin in the colon? Is your bowel a cesspool? Does it harbor toxins that are harmful to your health? Some alternative health practitioners would have you believe that the answer to these questions is
By the way-------I'm a Hep C sufferer too. The colon cleanse I did was not thru the rectum type. It was a barrage of pills that I took. It's a slow process (about a week) sometimes expensive tho. On average about $30. Go to the GNC and ask about of better yet, do a search on the internet and choose the one you think is the safest. Also, see my recent post for alternative action for HepC. 3/18/07
Actually...I have had a colon cleanse and it is probably the BEST thing you could do for your liver. If you clear out all the "garbage" out of your colon, it gives all the other organs in the body a fresh breath of air so they can breathe better and work more efficiently. I heard a cassette tape of patients and doctors that said it was great for them and the docs were going to suggest it to their patients. Kewl, huh?
besides cross contamination the physician reported there have been cases of colonics causing electrolyte imbalances resulting in cardiac failure.
If a person wants to.... they can always do an enema at home, no cross contamination there.... This is not a recommendation to anyone, so please don't send out a bunch of posts condemning me for that suggestion. I'm simply saying that if a person is wanting to 'cleanse the colon'.
Susan
if your are thinking about a colonic, i would not do it. last year i went to a lecture given by a holistic M.D. , trained by Dr. Weil's Program in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona. one of the top things she said to avoid was colonics - due to problems with cross-contaminations and people get very ill. yuck!
Someone asked Dr. Zhang if a colon cleanse would help hep. C and he said no.
you can't do anything to create Hep C. it's a blood borne disease only spread through contact with infected blood into an open wound (or injection). as far as the colon goes, the best prevention is regular colonoscopies. they knock you out nowadays so you don't even feel it.
