Bad Hep C Jokes

Is it just me or are you guys hearing more bad Hepatitis C jokes lately.
A couple weeks ago I heard Joan Rivers tell one on her show, but even
people I know seem to be spouting off more about Hep C.

I guess it's going to have to touch their world before they understand.
that absolutely anyone can have the virus.

Today, someone was telling a story about someone who had been in prisoner
who had... I stopped them before they got the rest of the story out.

Is it just me becoming more sensitive?
I really don't think that's the case because I've been dealing with the virus for several years.

Are people getting more vocal in a  negative way?

Okay, you got me there.
The OCD posters are the ones that get under my skin.
I admit it.

That is the thing, virtually every disorder condition gets mocked or laughed about. Whether it is by playing up to societal misconceptions or stereotypes or plain misinformation. The answering machine response is funny. Behavioral health disorders seem to be the primary source of the humor.

Would it been any less acceptable to have "If you have Hepatitis C be sure to decontaminate the phone after you hang up." Other than perhaps being decidedly unfunny what would have made it not OK.
