My first blood tests are in

WBC- 4.0
Hemoglobin- 14.5
Hematocrit- 42.2
Platelets- 161

Doctor said everything iis normal. BUT before tx my plateletes were 250 I asked him about this and his reply was everything is in normal range.
This drop makes me nervous.

these tests were done 3 weeks after the start of tx.

Those do look great. Hgb is awesome and that going down kicks your arse. My hgb was lower than that in screening before tx!!

  Doing good, keep it up!

Thank you each and every one of you. First things first,I guess,  let me see with a 75mil VL what will happen with my first PCR. Dont know what to expect. Neither does anyone else for that matter Im aware of that. I put my seatbelt on and ready for the ride.

Thank you all for your support.

Not only will platelets 'recover' after tx, you'll see them bounce around during tx.  At some point, you'll probably see them level off and then bounce around in that leveld-off area.  LJ and I talked about them specifically, with his input and a hemotologist monitoring I never got close to an alert zone (30'ish) and I started out at 119.  Got as low as the 50's, but generally hovered 65-75.  Plateletes will be the least of your worries.  Nothin' you can do about them anyway.

like all others said, you are doing fine. My hemo was 15.8 before tax, 15.3 (i week), 14.7 (2 week) and 12.2 after 4 weeks, my doc said still ok. My platelets went down from 195 to 148 (after two weeks) and again up to 186 after 4 weeks. Keep the good numbers

Your numbers look GREAT!!!  They will decline, as they do for all of us on tx.  My hemo started at 14 before tx and went down below 9 toward the end.  I did 48 weeks, geno 1b.  FlGuy is right about the platelets.  And my primary care doctor told me that whne the white counts go to 1.5 is when there will be concern.

This is going to be a roller coaster ride.  Hang on there and keep posting.  The people here will help guide you through your anxiety.

Really for now your numbers look great.

Hi. Thanks for answering  me. I go for my PCR on the 27th. I looked at the range for platelets and it showed 150-450. Mine started at 250 now 161. Does this fix itself after tx? It really freaked me out more than my Hemoglobin possibly going down. Its more dangerous isnt it? Didnt think I would be so upset by this but I am.
Thanks alot.

Did they do a viral load test (a pcr)?  That's the important one.  Don't worry about the platelets.  Many people start out at less than a hundred and go down from there.  Many docs think that the point to be concerned is when platelets get to 30.  That's the point that your particular doc says it's time to watch. You will likely see a continued decline.
