Calling ForseeFiber

Forseegood...is this the Ultimate Fiber brand you have spoken about. The blurb mentions it has acidopholus in it. So does this replace probiotics or do you take them in addition to the Ultimate Fiber. Still have this undiagnosed bloating issue -- I'm thinking mild IBS -- and probably time to try something.

Nature's Secret "Ultimate Fiber"

Hope this finds you well.

stuff like that can make you bloated if you have a "blockage" make sure youre drinking lots of water too...and take only a small amount of the stuff, more is not better when it comes to fiber under these circumstances...for "constipation blockages" what a nice pharase huh? Makes me hear music...anyway, I'd try to do a lot of oils...do a lot of olive oil on a salad, etc...and maybe take a spoon full of sesame oil....eat a lot of veggies, maybe steam some asparagus, etc...that'll loosen things up...Jimbo, did you ever in a million years think we'd be discussing this stuff with any kind of seriousness? Sometimes I hate gettin old...well, better then the alternative as they say...Happy Trails...(hmmm, maybe the wrong sign off):)

I thought the fiber was supposed to help with constipation. Now I'm really f*cked. Didn't take Ultimate Fiber yet but did Metamucil two days in a row and yesterday a bar called Flavor Fiber by Gnu foods. 12 g of fiber per bar and I ate the whole bar. Maybe that was too much? I also decided to go off Coffee and put Starbucks out of biz. Had about a quart of rooibios tea today with a chamomille chaser tonight. Seeing the doc tomorrow and I'll mention the bloating again I guess. Funny never had any of these problems before I treated. Hmm.

Hi, sorry I don't go through all the threads, maybe I should...yeah, the more probiotics the better, but at some point your body can only absorb enough, then it's overkill cause it's only going to absorb so much, so it's self-regulating, or so I've heard...you know, I got some good ones at CVC pharmacy, they are pretty good and chewable, and they are pretty cheap (Keep em refrigerated)...some good things to say about "market forces" cause probiotics used to be pretty expensive...anyway, they are called "Natures Bounty" chewable acidophilus, they have the added bonus of being Milk Free...you at least need to be taking a few billion per day...I think taking probiotics is standard for people "of a certain age" cause it helps with all kinds of things, besides the poopy problem....we need to keep our own natural micro-flora in reserve in there, or the body gets out of balance. Meds tend to kill the good and the bad bacteria as you prob know...

Yes, and I take Ultimate Fiber with a little aloe vera juice, and top it off with a little bit of fruit juice and water...though I was really constipated a while back and it backfired, so to speak, so I only take it while I'm being pretty regular anyway, to keep things running smoothly...if that has any logic to anyone...there aren't that many probiotics in the Ultimate Fiber to worry about, so don't worry about that...

Oh yeah, for good digestion (which I know used to be an issue with you) I take Nature's Way Beet Root powder, just a coupla capsules a day, or one a day...it's just like eating beets...(if youre eating beets, no need to take them.) I find that if youre digesting well, it impacts on everything else in the digestive system....

Also, found out that my trusty Multi-Enzymes from Vitamin Shoppe work pretty well...I almost never get indigestion, but I did 2 days ago after eating some dicey chicken hot dog (almost never eat that stuff) and I started feeling burpy and acidy, "drifting into the arena of the unwell" so to speak...popped a coupla those and it went away in like 10 minutes...Also, as an aside, my dog has a few digestive probs...after she'd eat, she'd kind throw-up a little, sometimes...went to the doggy store and they were trying to get me to buy some high priced enzymes (hey man, enzymes are enzymes) since I've been throwing the cheapy Vitamin Shoppe enzymes into her food, no throwing up anymore! She just must be defiecient in some way in her digestive track...these Multi-Enzymes are really cheap...if you take all this shite you'll be better, I guarantee it!

Goof, that Magnesium stuff they give you before the "Up Periscope" is what does it, as if you didn't know....

In tardy answer to your probiotic question, I'm not too 'regular' about it. Take what I have in the cabinet here and there. I'm on my way to unload a portion of my wallet at the Vitamins Shoppe this afternoon, so maybe I'll pick something up there. My liver man said he had one he liked, but the name escaped him.... together we decided that a variety of bacteria was good, and then he applied the sage wisdom that the more expensive ones are probably better.

So my current working formula: Lots of latin names, high list price, hopefully on sale.

I love the smell of a poo thread on a Sunday!

Didn't mean to infer your white count was "high" in a negative way, what I really meant was that your white count wasn't low, which is what many are concerned about on treatment.

Regarding your hemoglobin, as I said before, having high hemoglobin during treatment is a two-edged sword and not necessarily good. but as long as you are non-detectible at your week 4 test, I wouldn't be concerned if your doctors aren't.

You are correct in that a colonsocophy only examines the large intestine, not the small intestine. I'm still not sold on Dr. Natural, but as they say, what you want to do with your small intestine is none of my biz :)

Jim, when we get the colonoscopy the doctor doesn't go through our 'entire' intestine of 30 feet or so. The end of the intestine is about all they see. I don't know exactly how much, but yes the part that they see is clean after drinking that horrid drink. All this other stuff is what is stuck on the walls of the intestine way further up. Next time you see your doc, ask him how many feet does he examine with the colonoscopy. Its not 30 feet.

Thats why some of those pics the people held up stuff that actually had the little twists and turns of intestine. This stuff was stuck to their walls.

The grass/twig stuff must have been stuck to my intestine that came out. Not rignt away but after a couple of weeks on Dr. Natura.
Jim, I just thought of something, my high white count, maybe cause I had the b vaccine Oct, nov, december. Then started tx soon after. I don't know. Yes the hemo is good TG. I know thats why I feel really good. I take mega b's. They build red blood cells. I know that is what is helping. The sublingual B12 is supposed to be every few days. I take daily. Sometimes more than 1. I had decided that I wasn't going to worry about what vitamins would 'interfere.' Doctors put some folks on 2 ad's at a time, plus sleeping pills and everything else. I'm sure there haven't been studies on how 2 ad's affect tx or whatever other pills they give, but yet they feel comfortable prescribing 'pills.' Traditional doctors know very little about supplements, so I am not going to go through tx without what I believe would help get 'me'through just because 'they' don't have answers for me because they didn't study it in med school. B vitamins increase serotonin, yet most doctors would rather give an ad then to first try the b vitamins. Why? Because they don't believe in them. Thats fine, but I just gotta do what I gotta do. ya know? I'm quite wound up today, sorry to ramble on.

bug,,,I'm right in your age category, but no I didn't see Dream girls. Must have been great to see!!

Seeing the musical and now the movie, for you may be a dissapointment,,,but ya never know, maybe not. It would be interesting to see what you thought. Maybe you would like it as long as you didn't go with the expectation of it being as good as the musical. See ya later!

I don't know how old you are but I have seen the musical Dream Girls about 5 times. (I think I'm a lot older, you probably didn't know there was a musical)
My daughter bought me the new soundtrack for Christmas. I want to go see it, but I'm afraid I'll be disappointed after seeing the original musical.

Hope you know I really don't care where stuff is posted! I couldn't help with that question so I had to bring up shows. I have the last 2 tvoed and plan on watching it tonight. My brother loves Ugly Betty and I really think it's funny, just haven't watched it much.
This side is so much more relaxed and enjoyable to me.
Grey's Anatomy--definitely a chick flick. I like House too. Take care

Hi lady! I guess it's a med question but nothing critical so I thought I'd throw it in here. More relaxed and less fights on this side of the wall, don't you think. Yes, we are do for an Idol thread very soon. Maybe when they narrow it down in Hollywood. That guy last week near the end of the show was pretty funny although don't think his voice will take him to the top 10. Given up on Grey's anatomy, too much of a chick flick series. Besides Idol, the only other shows I've got Tivoe'd up are 24, Prison Break and -- don't tell anyone -- Ugly Betty. LOL. Used to watch "The Closer" but I think they are between seasons now.

Hope all is well,

Isn't this a medical question?:)Now that I'm watching American Idol for the first time I'm kinda waiting for you to bring that up again.
Grey's Anatomy anyone? Or is it Gray's?

It sounds like you simply had some undigested fiber in the stool. Happens. Like Goofy and I mentioned, if we really had all that stuff in our colons, then how come they look so sparklin' clean after a simple one-time cleanse for the colonoscophy? Curious, did you see those "leaves" before or after you started using Dr. Natura's stuff.

Your white cells seem relatively high for being on treatment but I'm sure your doctor only looks at the ANC fraction anyway. That's "abs neutrophils" and it's probably listed with your labs. As far as hemoglobin is concerned -- your high hemoglobin is one reason you're feeling so well. As long as your viral load gets non-detectible, that's fine. However, if you're still detectible with the week 4 draw, you might ask your doctor about increasing the ribavirin. A high hemoglobin on treatment cuts two ways. On one hand, you feel better, but on the other hand, it could suggest -- that's "could" in sometimes, not always -- that the ribavirin isn't being absorbed as well as it could be. In that case, sometimes they will prescribe more ribavirin.

All the best,

and yes! i did recover my other set of car keys after Dr. Natura. lol

Jim, let me get gross a minute or possibly 2. I take walks in parks with my dogs, but never ever ever do I sit on the nature path and eat fallen leaves.

I am telling you, it looked like I had autumm leaves in my stools!!. I forced my husband to look, because I was in shock!!!! Yes my poor husband, I know. He proved his love for me that day. hehe. I would fail the test if he asked me to do the same for him.

I had twigs, or at least they looked like twigs (exactly like twigs) come out. I have never eaten a twig. hehe. Serious!! this stuff is real. I bow to Dr. Natura. She made a believer out of me in this stuff.

----------------------------------------------------------
I have the labs, but just had the blood drawn which will show the effects of the 4th shot. Should have those results next week. Hopefully the 96 hit the road, or else I'll cry-cry- cry 96 tears. After I thought about it, I figured I may as well wait and post after the results of 4th week arrive.

These baseline labs looked real good. My enzymes have been normal for along time now. I mentioned to bug below that my baseline white cell was 9 something though. Still in normal range, but they are usually around 5 and at times have been low. So I don't know, I probably will email NP and ask, but I guess nothing was thought of it, cuz no one mentioned. I read stress can make them go up and virus's etc. But after first shot went all the way down to 3 something. Hemo is holding at 12. Was 13 something. Too lazy to get up and get exact figures. I'm finding that I am running out of steam early in the night at this point, but still can't complain compared to what some have endured with tx.

BTW Idol I feel IDol is not showing enough of the good singers that got through. I hate when they make fun of people. It gets depressing after a while watching Randy laugh at everyone. and Simon is so mean sometimes. Paula is so stoned week in and week out, but I do like watching the show.

I want to see Dream girls and see the girl who was in the finals. She is supposed to be very good in the movie.

see ya!

Now why am I not surprised this particular topic dragged you off the sofa. LOL.

Curious, which probiotics do you recommend and how often? Do you use them every day or skip them if you have some yogurt? I think the Ultimate Fiber mix linked above has some probiotics in it but not sure how much. Always good when one of our bowel experts shows up :)

LOL, yes I knew you were kidding with Lady Bugged. I even knew what you meant about ForseeFiber. I liked Goof's comment when he said Forseehotwater or something like that. Then I called it ho water because I can't type as fast as my brain is racing. Or maybe the brain is too slow causing finger problems.
House--true story each week right??? Like Medium!:)

This is a brilliant topic, but what I want to know is where does all that month and years old impacted fecal matter go when they stick the old camera up the bunghole for a colonoscopy? Nothing there. Clean, nada, empty. Maybe a few popcorn husks, that's about it.

Jim, two liverheads that I have faith in both think probiotics are a pretty good thing for general GI health. Both seem to be of the same persuassion as I, that being the more latin names on the bottle the better.

What I meant by the colon cleanse thing being controversial are sites like Dr. Natura where they basically try to scare you into believing that your lost keys, wallet and sneakers are likely to be still stuck in your colon. LOL. I saw pics of my colon during my colonoscophy, and trust me, it did't look like that stuff on Dr. Natura's page. I assume if we really had a lot of that stuff inside us, the gastro's would be the first to know and the first to give us something to flush it out.

Lady, I was just kidding with "Lady Bugged" but you probably knew that. Yes, I Tivo "House" as well, forgot. Very realistic depiction of medical care. LOL. But I still like the show.

Child, That was just a play on one of our member's name, "Forseegood". She mentioned a fiber called "UltimateFiber" and just wanted to find out who made it.

MyOwn, No, this is not from the "Dr. Natura" site. Different manufacturer. I did end up at Dr. Natura by accident and pretty gross. You should know that the whole colon cleanse thing is controversial. BTW you mentioned you got your test results, did you get your VL tests back? I'm assuming you're non-detectible or you'd probably be freakin' out. LOL.

That's dr. Natura. That stuff is pretty good.I used the product prior to tx. The cleanser gets rid of parasites and whatever else might be there. Lovely pictures on that site too.hehe But its true. you'd be surprised what you will see. Colors too, as she mentions. Very strange.

For daily colon cleanser "psyllium Whole husks" by yerba prima is very good. The probiotics I take 'in addition to' the yerba. But now with the riba,I am afraid of the fiber, as you had mentioned taking 3 hrs before or after the riba, so instead I am just taking the 'jarrow probiotics.' If you take yerba and probiotics, I would take the probiotics at night, becasue the yerba puts too much of a coating on your intestines and I would think the probiotics couldn't do their job then in your intestines. If it sits in your drink, you will see how thick and slippery it gets.

I also read that the probiotics stimulate your bodies natural interferon, so i have been taking a minimum of 4-6 a day, rather than the 1 capsule.

btw, vitacost.com has very good prices for yerba and probiotics and other supplements.

see ya!
