Natalie Cole & AARP

Yes, Ive taken to reading AARP periodical. I've actually gotten some discounts on auto insurance, and some interesting articles in the magazine.  Anywhoo, there is an article about Natalie Cole, she looks good and happy and it does mention her diagnosis of Hep C.  Unfortunately it doesnt go into it at all, but it does say that she was taken off interferon due to her kidney failure (unrelated I think), so I'm not sure if she cleared.
g'nite.

Keith - that's what I recall also.  Like you, I had hoped she would be a better spokesperson but most of her previous interviews and artlces were all distorted on the subject.

t is my belief that Natalie is still infected with HepC. She had to stop treatment early due to problems with her kidney which ultimately needed to be replaced. Natalie blamed the Interferon treatment for her kidney failure. I think she will have HepC for the rest of her life due to the problems she had with treatment and her current position on treatment. She is angry about what the treatment did to her and the fact it didn't help her. It's very sad. I saw her on an interview with Larry King. I was hoping she could be a better spokesperson for HepC awareness but after watching her interview I came away feeling she could not endorse any kind of treatment. I love her music and still respect her.

The article in AARP clarified what she said about an IV. In the AARP article she said the IV in her dressing room was for fluids that she would take before performing. She said the Interferon made her dehydraded which makes more sense then what we previously thought was an Interferon IV.

She talked a lot about her kidney transplant but didn't say much about her HCV ???

Some of us have been following her hepC battle since it started and it never really made any sense. For example there was one article in which she talked about having her IV bag of interferon hanging in her dressing room before shows or something......

I'm not sure but it was always very odd so it might be good news she didn't get to say anything.
