Losing your hair?

Ok no doc ever mentioned this side effect. Do you lose all your hair like as on chemotherapy? I go to new dr in sept to talk about tx. I really want to have all my questions down.

The doctors.  They say, any questions?  And then you say, no.  Because how would you know?  It hasn't happened yet.

Most of us had some hair loss, but  it was more of a thinning for me.  There are a few people who got wigs and felt so much better about their self esteem. You will just have to see how it goes.  My hair got thin and straight.  It was just different, not unbearable.  I did use Nioxin products and do think they helped.

The pre-treatment anxiety is bad.  I would have thought I would not have it since I am waiting for my second treatment to start, but I surely do.  Kind of a pit in the stomach and oh- what- am- I- getting- into  feeling.  I do know that it stops when you take the first shot.  Hang in there.  We will ride this tide together.

In Dr.Melissa Palmers book"Living with Hepatitis C" she recommends Nioxin Shampoo and conditioner .She recommends starting use with this about a month before you start tx. Hope this helps and by the way you might not lose any of your hair-each person is different
Also use Nioxin hair growth promoter.Do not use dyes or bleach your hair while on tx-this can make things worse...cindy

Thank you can- do. Yes, I keep reminding myself that there are pple much worse off than me. I just took care of my mother with lung cancer in the final stages. Miraculously she has been in remission now 4 two years. She was diagnosed about 6 mos b4 got my news. So I kinda put myself on hold and took care of her. She beat the odds and is doing great now.  So I'm hoping I can be as brave and strong with the hep as she was with the cancer. Miracles do happen. She's proof . Are I on tx can do? If u don't mind mr asking. Sandi

It's understandable that your scared, i think we all was. But theres alot worse things to have then hep-c........... As for hair lost i've never heard of anybody that lost it all, mainly just thinning. Charm that posts here prolly had the worse thinning i can recall. She used to have pictures of before, during and after treatment, not sure if she still does though....... Stay well.

I was diagnosed a little over 2 years ago. Just kept feeling so tired and bad that i finally went to dr. And ran test that came back hep c. Opted out of tx then because I wanted to be there for my sons graduation. Doc said it'd be ok. Nowy babys grown and am ready to get ready to get rid of this hepC. I will admit I'm scared to death though.
