I need Math Help..can't figure my riba..do I care??

I went to my trial center today to pick up my new meds.  My nurse was counting my pills like they always do- I take 3 in the morning and 2 in the evening.  She came up with 79.  Odd, because I take 5 a day, so it should always be a number ending with a 5 or 0.  Except that I hadn't taken my evening dose yet.

So we figured I must have dropped one somewhere along way.  Fine, no big deal.  Then, I am looking in my purse for a pen and find 3 riba and a zoloft......huh???  Besides the fact that I can't figure out how they got in the bottom of my purse....that makes my count now 82.  I can't figure out if I missed a dose somewhere....or took more, or what.

I'm pretty sure at this point-week 44-it doesn't matter, but it is really bugging me for some reason.  I think because I can't figure it out, it is frustrating me.

That, and the fact that my CD player in my car is broken.  My food processor broke last night.  There's no food in the house and everything is driving me crazy.  Nothing seems to work right or turn out the way I think it should and I am too darn tired to fix it or care.  Unless of course it's bedtime.....then I'm too wide awake to sleep and want to fix everything but can't because everyone else is asleep.

I thought I would treat myself today since I am obviously in a "mood", so I went and got a spray tan.  Thought it would make me feel less vampire/marshmellow-like.  But it was raining when I left the salon, so I will probably wake up with stripes down my arms and legs in the morning.  That is if I don't go into sugar shock from absorbing the coloring during the night.  Will things ever be normal again??????

Wow....thanks for letting me get all that off my chest. Sorry for dumping all that on you all, but I needed to vent.  Apparently, really badly.  So, bottom line......do y'all think I missed a dose?

SVR to all,

Isobella

Thanks meakea - I'll give that one a try sometime.... "No baby, that's not a little winkie. Fact is, it's a true kielbasa - you're just having technological difficulties."

Pretty smooth, huh?

Isobella,
You've heard of the 80% rule?  If a patient doesn't take a minimum of 80% of the meds for 80% of the time, positive outcome is diminished.  Not to send you for your calculator, but you know you are way, way far above the basic rule.  Forget about the riba.

Unfortunately, due to technological difficulties, visual images are sometimes viewed by the brain in "shrinkage mode."

(Ever watch Seinfeld?  Shrinkage was a great episode)

You guys are FUNNY!   :)

OMG - I remember piles of 5 pills all over the dining table and about 50 unsuccecssful attempts at reconciling the count. I finally gave up. I think once you get past the initial load up of Riba (3-4 weeks?) it doesn't matter so much - miss a couple... try to take a couple extra down the road.

Nygirl - the last time you recommened that Juergens stuff, I grabbed it by accident and ended up with an over-baked looking winky.

What a difference a day makes! Y'all are great.  Thanks for the encouragement.

Besides the stress of being sooo close to EOT (you wouldn't think that would be stressful, but it is) I had to take my entrance exam for nursing school today.

Now that that's over with, those 2 (or was it 3) riba don't seem so important.

Ya know, Rocker...I do use pill boxes.  That's what's so scary...I am still having a hard time.  I mean, Marcia has seriously been the one keeping up with what week I am on my whole tx.  And, lol, my husband is alive....although he keeps saying I am gonna put him in an early grave, I haven't yet....but I still have 4 more shots ;)...so ask me again later.  (he's been a trooper thru this all)

So, yeah....I did well on my entrance exam, but no surprise the math section was my lowest score =(

WKTKOTDK.....my new favorite club!!!! I will look forward to joining you all there.

nydeb-Cost of spray on (on sale) $22.00.....cost of waking up with no stripes-Priceless, lol!  Thanks for the lotion tip.  My neice's shower is next Sunday and the option is to not bathe before then or get Jergens.....I'm goin with the Jergens!

You guys are the best.  Thanks to you all life is once again good!!!

I'm sorry you are having such a rough time but you are almost almost done so hang in there girl you WILL make it and then when you post your "I'm SVR" post it will have all been worth it.

You know if you use the Jergen's Express self tanning lotion it will help you keep the color you got yesterday (I'm sure it's just FINE).  I'm too broke to do stuff like spray tanning so I used that stuff and it worked really well - at least I don't think I looked orange anyways.

Hang in there, you will make it for sure it's almost over even if you had missed a couple riba.......so what there is no virus to kill off any longer anyway so it's no big deal at all :)

"If you’re pregnant, you should definitely stay away from tanning sprays"

If you're pregnant and worried about your Riba count, then you have way bigger problems =:-0

Hey Izzy, you sound like I felt toward the end of treatment!  I was asking people to please NOT send my mind home if they found it.

It's almost over girlfriend. Just a few more weeks and you can join up with us in the We Killed the Krap Outta That Dragon Klub.

What’s In That Tanning Spray?

Tanning sprays contain a color additive called dihydroxyacetone, also referred to as DHA (but not to be confused with the healthy omega-3 fat DHA). Sunless tanning products may contain anywhere between 1 to 15 percent DHA; the higher the DHA level, the darker the tan produced.

Manufacturers of sunless tan products claim that DHA is a simple carbohydrate sugar solution but a toxicologist who investigated the harmful effects of tanning beds disagrees. Even the FDA has not approved the use of DHA in spray tan booths.

The FDA previously approved the use of DHA as an ingredient in tanning products but strictly for topical application only. Spray tanning directly exposes you to DHA because you can inhale it and it will be applied to your face, near the eyes, nose and lip area.

The dangers of DHA ingestion are largely unknown. The FDA has recommended for people to use protective eyewear, plug their nose and cover their lips whenever using spray tans but since there is no law regulating tanning salons, the establishments offering spray tanning are not obliged to mention the recommendations or the potential risks.

Consumers have reported rashes, coughing, dizziness and fainting to the FDA as some of the adverse reactions after spray tanning.

However, DHA is just one of the concerns because tanning sprays may contain as many as 45 different chemicals, including arsenic, lead and mercury.

If you’re pregnant, you should definitely stay away from tanning sprays.

What’s Dr. Mercola’s advice? Avoid spray tanning entirely.

I wasn't here last night so I just found your post.  OMG, you are tooooo funny!  I'm just sorry that everything's going to heck right now for you.  I've had those times, too, when it seemed like everything was breaking, and to combine that with tx mood, yeah, that would be a lot!

Hang in there, sis, you are so close to the finish line, and your SVR!!!  I won't try to say anything funny cause the last time I did that I got reported.  : )

This is the reason why i stopped counting my pills to keep track...this has happened to me,but ive always got my dose in...even tho i was a few hours late a few times...the pill boxes are the only way for me now....after i load up my boxes with pills and if that morning or evening compartment is empty....i KNOW the pill has been taken...the trick is tho to make sure you fill the boxes on the same day at the same hour every week.if you can...you didnt miss a dose by my calculations either...are you using the pill boxes?

BTW...that tanning lotion is not too good for you system...is you huabamd still alive?

Even if you did miss a dose I think you'll be fine. I did the same thing at about the same stage of tx too and it didn't affect my UND status at the time ot at EOT.  If it really worries you can add one to your next few doses to make up for it, I also did that but I'd have to say it made me feel more shite than ever and dropped my hemo into the 9's again so that my last couple of weeks were hard yakker.  In retrospect, with 20 20 vision, I would have been better to just forget about the missed dose or making it up.  I think forgetting the dose was my body telling me I needed a break from those dang meds even if for 12 hours.  Hang in there, babe, you're nearly done!

Thank YOU for the laugh! That stuff about the spray tan and the striping broke me up. I'm sorry you are having a bad week, and I'm incompetent at math, too. I wouldn't even attempt to figure that out, especially after taking a Tramadol.

Sounds like the week from hell.  I'm not competent for the math.  If you felt slightly better for an hour or 2, you missed a dose.  My nurse once miscounted but I found a squashed (but intact) riba in the bottom of my travel bag from when the idiot at the airport dumped all my meds.  When I jumped to catch them she says "move back ma'am".  I'm grateful she didn't pull her gun.  Next week you'll still be tired, but everything else will be better.

Thanks so much.....the doors on my brain were totally shut on that one. You made it sound so simple.  It was giving me a headache. And making me sick to my stomach.  I owe ya big time =)

Isobella:  If you hadn't taken your evening dose yet, that would mean that the 82 pills (including those found in your purse) would be 80 after you took those 2 pills.  So, you're back on track with the 0/5 number.  Doesn't seem that you missed any pills at all.

Sorry for your bad week.  Next week will definitely be better.  The rollercoaster can only stay in a screamer mode for so long and then it has to ease up.  :)

Vent all you want -- we're here and we understand!!

Oh boy, sounds like your having a rough time.  Everything is driving you crazy because your so close to being done and you just want it to be over with.  Its like your running in a marathon and your close to the finish line, but your physically and mentally exhausted.  All you need is that little boost to get you across that line.  Heres your boost.

You can do this cause your a dragon slaying sister who's relentless determination is going to kill that old beast forever.  Its almost over girl --4 more shots.  Your going to cross that line even if your crawling.  You may be tattered and beaten up a bit but that virus will be dead.  4 more --4 more   Yeahhhhh
