jm jm Questions for my DR appt today?

Sorry to start a new thread but i was not sure if you would see this. In my previous post you mentioned that i should have post tx labs such as PCP what kind of test is this what does it measure. I know about the thyroid but not the metobolic panel what are these test for. I'm still working on my list for my appointment and i want to understand what i'm asking for. I feel sorry for my DR today. I hope he has a little extra time.  Thanks Jim

Sorry I meant "CBC", not "PCP".

"CBC" stands for "complete blood count" and includes hemoglobin, white blood count, platelets, etc..

Also, in adddition to a thyroid panel, you'd probably want a lipid profile panel that would include total cholesterol, hdl, ldl and triglicerides.

Some docs like mine have their own custom panels so instead of ordering each of the above individually, they just order a single custom panel. The important thing is to get the tests done.
