I was pulled from the trial

I don't feel like saying a lot, but since I was allowed to report when I went on the Vertex trial, then, I'm reporting to you that today, I was pulled from the Vertex trial.  I did not get the viral response necessary.  I knew it was a chance, but it is still disappointing for me. I am still holding for hopes for all of you currently treating.

I am so sorry Susan, I know how hard you fought to make it into this trial...it will happen for you I know it will, you are a fighter, that's for sure!

I feel really, really bad.  You have fought an incredible fight with this virus.  With your type of spirit this will not let you down.  Somehow, I know you will be just fine.  Take some time to enjoy life.  You fought this so long, now it is time you relax and do something you really enjoy.  Before you know it a cure will be around the corner.  My thoughts will always be with you.

I am so sorry to hear that you were pulled from the trial.  I know that empty feeling like when I found out that I relapsed.  All we can hope is that there will be something down the road that will blow this virus off the face of the earth once and for all.

I was hoping this was the answer for you. Hopefully, the answer is will be in other research. Are you going to be taking an Infergen maintainence dose? Keep your head up. You know many people are praying for you.

Very sorry Susan. What week did they pull you? Did they tell you what your viral response was? My understanding is that you were in the non-ribavirin arm? Will they give you a chance to re-treat or roll-over into triple therapy, i.e. Telaprevir, Peg and ribavirin? In any event, there will be other trials and other drugs.
