In Memory of beautiful Nick

I wish I had the words to comfort you,
In all your pain and grief.

But I know there is nothing I can say or do,
to help you find relief.

Your numbness will soon subside,
and the pain and tears will be real.

Just remember no matter what,
It's ok to feel what you feel.

Each day may seem like a burden,
sometimes it will be hard to face.

But they will never stop loving you,
just because they're in a new and better place

They will live on in your hearts,
you will all have memories to share.

And when your time on earth is through,
with open arms, they will be waiting for you there.

A wife who loses her husband is called a widow.
A husband who loses his wife is called a widower.
A child who loses his parents is called an orphan.
Yet there is no word for a parent who loses a child.

That`s how awful the loss is.

My deepest condulences.

Oh Elaine,
I can only imagine your grief this day. I continue to pray that God will keep you strong and give you His peace, the Peace that passes understanding. Nick's fight is over and I trust he is at peace...a place of no tears...pure eternal joy...no more suffering. That is my prayer today.
Sincerely, with much sorrow for your loss

Elaine,

May you find peace, my heart breaks for you.

I'M FREE

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free
I'm following the path God has chosen for me.
I took His hand when I heard him call;
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way;
I've now found peace at the end of day.

If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joys.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss;
Oh yes, these things, I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
Look for the sunshine of tomorrow.

My life's been full, I savored much;
Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch.
Perhaps my time seems all to brief;
Don't lengthen your pain with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and peace to thee,
God wanted me now-He set me free

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.

Then someone at my side says: "There, she is gone!"

"Gone where?"

Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.

Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just as the moment when someone at my side says:"There, she is gone!" there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout: "Here she comes!"

I'm so very sorry Elaine, the above brought comfort to me during my grief throughout my life and I hope it'll bring you a bit of comfort as well...

"Why does God wait to answer our prayers for healing until the other side of the grave?"

I don't know.... I only know he led you here and I hope that by sharing your grief we can somehow diminish it, even just a tiny little bit.

Thoughts and prayers for the ones left behind on this side. We hoped and prayed for a new life for Nick, a rebirth......I never expected this to be an answer to my prayers.

My dear sweet friend.....

Hugs,
Bug

I do not have the eloquence that so many here have.

I can only say very simply and with lots of love, that I am so sorry for your loss.

You are an amazing woman, amazing mother.

Your love for your son will last forever.  His love for you will last forever.

The support you have given me in my fight has made a difference in my world.  I think that seeing the love on these threads has made a difference for many of us.  That is how strong your love is.  It touches us all.

I will be praying for you.  Thank you for giving, and sharing with me.

Rita, I'd like to do something as well....I'm thinking some direction will come soon enough as to what Elaine feels will honour Nick most and we'll see what we can do in whatever way.

I don't think Nick ever posted here himself, but for the past few years your accounts of his  bravery and courage has made him an important part of our community, inspiring so many of us. Your love and devotion has also set a standard for those looking for ways to help those that need help.  I am so sorry about Nick's passing. You both tried so very hard and fought so very bravely. Nick's memory and your devotion will always continue to live here. May God and all those that offer prayers be with you in this very difficult time.

Perfect words jmjm, very true. What an inspiration Elaine has been here, what unity, support Nicks journey brought out in people. He brought out so much good, added much to this world in his short life, that many never do.

Elaine....I just called all 3 of my sons, you know I have talked about you both, asked them to pray for you both. They also send their condolences and prayers for you.
I also told them how very much I love them......

God Bless you Elaine, be beside you and help you through this, Lauri

There is one thing we all could do as long as its in our beliefs, and that is to make organ donor awareness more out there, word of mouth, newspapers, elected officals, ect.

Elaine again i'm so sorry.

Dearest Elaine,

These are the lyrics of a song my husband wrote, when his Auntie lost her son. And now we would like to dedicate it to you. With love... Marcia and Moussa

MA KANA KASI (Mother Don't Cry)

Every day carries a goodbye
And maybe a loving glance we won’t forget
A night will come for the soul to rest
When the day’s work is done there is no regret

Oh woman don’t cry
Oh woman don’t cry

Kana kasi,
( don’t cry )
Ma kana kasi,
( mother don’t cry )
Mogo laban tiogo dé kagélin,
(the way we leave this world is what’s important )
Kana kasi,
( don’t cry )
Saya té masi to,
( death forgets no one )
Mogo laban tiogo dé kagélin,
(the way we leave this world is what’s important )

Woman don’t blame the sky
Listen to the whisper of God instead
Your son left on a good day
Leaving the fuel of his love to make your heart glow
Oh woman don’t cry

Kana kasi
Ma kana kasi
Mogo laban tiogo dé kagélin
Kana kasi
Saya té masi to
Mogo laban tiogo dé kagélin

I know you still feel the pain

Kana kasi, kana kasi
Ma kana kasi By Moussa Diallo

I'm sorry, I mixed up the happenings.

Moussa wrote this song for his step grandmother. Her son (his step uncle) passed away of the same causes and at the same age as your beloved son.

May they both rest in peace...

God bless, Marcia
