Insurance for us

A bit off topic, yet not really with us.

Can anyone suggest GOOD insurance companies (not the rot gut ones!) that may insure us with 'past' Hep C?
My only health issue was Hep C, to date (and that I will get verified yet) and my liver specialist said he'll compose a letter stating I do NOT have a liver disease, treated Hep C successfully, etc. I will pay the high cost, just want, need good insurance. Posting this as it could save hours researching companies.

I don't think they will ever consider us "past" hepC unfortunately.  At least not for many years of "remission" (they won't ever say cure I'm sure)

Like we still can't get life insurance.  

I'm not sure of the rules but even with a six month SVR they won't consider it a "cure" - why should they we might need retreatment or transplant someday and we do always have the antibodies. (Their logic not mine).

I could be wrong but this is a sticky area for all of us.  It would be interesting to see how they will treat this.  God knows they make it impossible for us just to get the meds - since "cure" is a very subjective word in this disease I'm pretty sure they'll take the easy way (for them) and it'll be like being in remission from cancer or something.

I have no faith in the insurance INDUSTRY at all any more.  Learned that the hard way. They don't want to help they just want to make money and probably will charge us all a premium to do so.

Anyway, your best bet is a main stream
company. Like Ghi, Bluecross, Oxford(this
is the one I have)There a bit pricey,but what
we need it for, it pays off. Good Luck

I'm blessed that I still have insurance although I don't have my health. I have United Health through my last job Warner Bros till I'm 65. Total blessing - I'd probably be dead by now.

Thanks for the heads up on your other post about the post viral fatigue Syndrome - I'm sure that is one of my post problems...big time - plus the unreal RA flare - but will start Rituxan soon so will let you know how it goes.
