The guitar was an extension of him....its like it was just another body part.
I saw hendrix first time 1967 here in Sweden i was 14 at the time almost , and I`d never have heard of him before.
Someone said theres a very good american guitarrist in our big amusement park playing for free ( he got paid but the audiens didn´t pay).
And Man what a sound chocked me totaly in a positiv way, and that was the real old stuff wind cryes merry, foxy lady, hey joe joe know!!
I also love clapton but he shouldn´t play Hendrix tunes nobody but him can make that sound even to day I think!!
PS Also saw him at the same place 1970 just some months before he died The band of Gypsys but with M. Mitchels on drums instead of Buddy Miles !!
wishing there were a woodstock 20 yrs later in my time. unbelieveable! this man had extraordinary talent. wishing he would have left all drugs/alcohol and still be with us today! a genius ... if alive today, how old would he be? 70 or so... I was 13, but i was not there. But I sure wore out some 8 tracts..tracks, listening to it!
I was there too...and I remember. My brother took me and got in big trouble for it.
