Just checking in ~~~~

Hi everyone !!!    I just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing.. I see Wyntre is almost there.. Whooo Hoooo.. What a ride huh ?      I am doing fine.  Gained a bit of weight.. about 1 lb a week since stopping.. But thats it.. I refuse to gain anymore, in fact.. I am going to start walking every morning before work, and maybe on my lunch hour.. But I usually come home for lunch..     I have about 8 wks or so and time to go for my 6 month PCR or qualitative test .. whichever I can talk him into.. Since he told me in Jan that I am UND and did not have to test for another year.. Whatever.....   I am going to have my PCP run it in May.   Work has been a bear. and get really frustrated, but not as bad as I did while on treatment.    I try to smile all the time on my calls..  LOL

Everyone says I look great.   My hair is coming in thick and I finally colored it on Sunday, before going out to eat for Easter dinner.  It looks nice..   A nice warm brown.  .. Didn't go back to blonde just yet.   I am not using permanent color yet, cuz of all the baby hairs coming in, don't want to fry them before they have a chance to grow in..

I haven't been online much lately because was without internet for a bit.   I got rid of verizon, because they screwed up and locked me out of my email.. Which I can never retreive now..    At any rate.. they hit the wrong button with me, and I got rid of them all together.  Now have Brighthouse for internet and phone.  Bye bye verizon.  ......

What a nightmare that was for sure.. Well my step daughter and grandbaby are on their way over, so I am gonna close for now but will check in.. Everyone tell me how you are doing.. I miss everyone and think of you guys often.

Dana

Kimmy ~     I hope you are doing ok with treatment and that the sx are not getting to you too bad.   Its a long road, but you can do it.   Keep us updated on how you are feeling.

Susan ~     I don't blame you about not wanting to do that trial with not many known facts about it.  But would definaltly try to get into one of the others... I lost your email and LL , due to the mess up with verizon.. so you will have to PM me your email again, as I lost it when I got rid of verizon.  .      I haven't called my PCP yet about having a LAB prereq , but will in a few weeks, towards the end of the month.    Its been nice staying away from the doctors,  and not having those extra copays for that and the rx.

Lady Lauri ~    Aren't you glad you're done ?   Feels great huh ?  I hope you are starting to feel better, you will be strong enough soon for a nice long ride.   How did your hair fare ?   Did you lose much of it ?  Did you cut the length at all ?      Mine is coming in thicker everyday.. But its still short short.. I go about every 3 weeks to get it done.   Just until the little babies catch up..  But will have to go thru that bad hair day phase.   Till it grows out ..  But who knows..   everyone likes it like this.    Get compliments on it all the time.   Even my dad, who thought short hair would look awful on me..  Actually likes it.  Keep in touch.. and send me your email in PM.. cuz I lost all them when I lost verizon.  Can't wait to see what they do to me on my final bill..    LOL

Bug ! ~~~   So glad you're still lerking.    I know what you mean about feeling like a new woman.  You need to go get that 1 yr test.    I am going next month...

A friend of mine is getting ready to have surgery and skin grafs for the removal of cancer on his back and arms.   I told his sister I would be more than happy to donate the skin , so they won't have to take it from his butt cheeks..     She emailed me the doctors name,     I wonder if they would consider doing that ?

Glad to hear you are doing great and feeling normal again..   Keep it up.

MO ~    Glad to hear you are going to start soon.  Should be able to lick it this time around.  I sure hope so.  When are you starting ?     I am just so glad to be done, glad to feel good again.. Glad to be able to sleep.  I think thats why I am not here as much any more, as I was always on line when I could not sleep.. which was most of the nights.    I would wake at 3 ish and could not go back to sleep.    Now I sleep till the alarm goes off at 7, if the dog doesn't wake me sooner..   I got an ABrocket, ordered it anyway, and going to work out on it everyday when it gets here, and I walked this weekend , about 1/2 mile out and back again.   It was getting ready to storm, so had to turn around.      Plus pressure washed the pool deck and screen.. that gave my arms a work out..

Eric  ~   How did your physical check out ?  Whats up with the weight loss ?  I hope you are doing well.. And I hope everyday, you are feeling better.  Time sure flys while not on treatment doesn't it. ????    Hopefully everything is fine, and you will be back to normal before you know it.  Keep us informed..    Heres to your SVR .....

Going to start dental work (bridge, cleaming again, etc.) soon. Tx made teeth dingy, had one abcess and so on.
Glad your doing well!!

I am 2 weeks post treatment now and heading back to NY tomorrow for a complete physical.  Something has changed quite dramatically - my beard is growing much more rapidly, I am losing weight and my skin is very dry.  I hope my thyroid is functioning properly!  So much for the complaining - on a positive note - it sure feels wonderful to be off the drugs.

Glad to hear that all is well! Wishing you the very best with up comming tests!
I will be starting my 2nd round soon, just want to get it over with and behind me and move on.

The walking will help with the weight. I think you will be fine with that. You sound determined to keep the weight off and so for that reason you will.

take care,
MO

Hi I'm still lurking, reading and catching up when I can.  I need to get a 1 yr post pcr but I've been really busy with other med stuff I let go for so long.

LL finally went to the gyn and all is well...I talked about doing that last December when you wrote about your friend...

My teeth were cleaned this past week, ( my gums and teeth are healthy,) and I  had a epidural steroid injection in my neck for the degenerating discs.

I'm practically a new woman!

Now all I need is a face lift and liposuction to complete the transformation!
Know any cheap plastic surgeons?

Hugs,
Bug

Just dumped Verizon myself, in cell phones.

Glad your doing so good post tx. I'm starting to mend after @ 6 weeks off. Slowly! Next lunch I can ride there :)
What's up with the 'no labs for a year' thing??? You had the 3mths. right? Than one at 6mths! Agree, get it done somewhere. Be praying you remain SVR!

Susan...you check into that Debio more? Post on it maybe?

Kimmy.....hang in there, the weeks will go by! You'll get there. Hope you have an easy time in this.

Hi Dana,

I'm glad to hear from you.  Yup, I'm still around here.  I have my appt. at Jacksonville coming up next Tues.  I really don't know what to expect.  I don't know if they'll have any trials coming up that I'll meet criteria for.

I got an offer to screen for a trial in Gainesville, something called Debio-025, but I'm not really sure that I'm going to do it.  I'm still weighing it through.  There doesn't seem to be enough known about it, or enough history behind it, for me to know if I'm comfortable with it.  At least with the VX, there was a lot of people doing it at the same time with me and there seemed to be a lot more reporting on it.  I'm really more interesting in leaning towards a Protease Inhibitor or a Polymerase Inhibitor (w/SOC of course), then anything else.  The thing is, with the Debio is that it's just barely out of the test tube/animal stage and it hasn't actually been used on a whole lot of people yet.  I believe at last count, around 50 and out of that, some of them had big problems with low platelets and bilirubin increasing.  This makes me a little bit anxious with Stats like that.  I would be interested in being in a trial with like, Boceprevir(Spelling??) or a later Telaprevir trial, if I could qualify.  It's just that I've treated too many times with SOC and have not cleared, that now, the Dr.'s feel that for me to try that again is futile and a waste of time and money.  I would have to add something to the mix.  If I wasn't at a bridging fibrosis stage, I'd probably just not even be talking about it for like the next 5 years, or so, you know?  I just want to get an SVR and put this all behind me.

Anyhow, I'm so happy for you that you're doing well.  I am really hoping for you that you have a great result with your blood work so that you can feel confident in your SVR.
