Life on tx

I am trying to rap my head around what my life will be like on tx...I hope to start the beginning of July...I am a planner and this is hard for me because I am not planning anything for us once I start tx....I don't know what my world will be like, will I be sick, will I be ok...will I feel like going to the movies, out to dinner, hanging with friends and family or will I feel like staying home and seeing no one and going no where other then work and back.....

Can anyone share what their life was like on tx..I realize that we don't know how bad the sx will be and that most likely plays a big roll in it. I am geno 2b and will be treating for 6 months.. I am so freaked out by all I read and having nightmares... Trying to focus on our up coming vacation to Italy in June..

Thanks for sharing I really appreciate it.

The drugs we take for HCV can be difficult as many people on the forum say.  I spent many years on them, since I treated 8 times since 1989.  In all cases, life is always what you make of it.

The difficulty with treatment is that it changes the metric we use to measure ourselves and the behavior of others. Quite often we can deal with difficult situations and do it well - all the time feeling we are fragile and a failure.

It is important to always remember that when you feel badly it is because you took some powerful drugs and when they are gone - life will be good again.

You might have very few problems and wonder what everyone is talking about.  It seems to me that the treatment starts off with physical problems: headaches, joint pain and fatigue.  They subside substantially after the first week and then the emotional problems start.  With me, they gradually got worse over time and if I had stopped at 6 months, it would not have been bad at all.

There are many "rescue" drugs that will make life easier and give you more energy to boot.  Hopefully, it will be a mildly unpleasant experience.  You are lucky that you found this forum where you can ask questions and get support when you need it.

Good luck and don't worry too much.

Dont wear youself out before you start with what ifs. If you do you wont have the strength
(physical or mental) to get thru tx. Everyone is different. Some sail thru some dont, some are in the middle.

There are many troopers here that have done 72 weeks, in addition people that have txed
multiple times and survived.

Dont anticipate it will only give you wrinkles.
Its sort of like rocking in a rocking chair....you go back and forth, but it doesnt get you anywhere.

Best of luck.
