I'll toast you on that! with a glass of juice of course!
It sounds like you've qualified as one GREAT FRIEND to your friends, so I'll just say, "Happy Great Friend Day", how's that?
Susan
Thats a heavy. But you know what probably true to some extent. In my 20's and thirties 3 of my friends started having families. One couldnt get herself to use a thermometer on the baby for the first time guess who did it without hesitation me! The other had child and in first 6 months couldnt bond with child didint have maternal instincts guess who watched that baby everyday me! Looking back , and even now in relationships etc, life. I am a natural nurturer as always have been. I truly never realized it. As I was reading yourrpost so many things came into view. It amazed me. hmmmmm.
And one had the croup and they couldnt handle the hacking so I watched her for 2 weeks! I forgot all bout this stuff.
I think some of the best motherers do not have children. People with children can be very wrapped up in their families to the exclusion of those beyond their property line...I include myself in that category.
My "grandmother" married my grandfather when they were in their late 50s. She had chosen not to have children in her previous marriage as she was career oriented and it was a different era. She was never really a step-mom to my dad...he was grown...but she was always Grandma to me.
Some people are natural nurturers...you must have that in you if people are wishing you a Happy Mother's Day.
