my HCV died,SVR SVR SVR at last

I got the call today from my dr.The 6 month follow up blood test showed no HCV.14 months of tx paid off.I just wouldn't quit. For those who want to quit, don't unless your dr. says so.I am 63 who had HCV type 1a with a 2/2 liver.I did the 2 soc for 11 months and relapsed.I went on Incevec 6 months later and my dr. stopped me at week 11 because of complications.Very discouraged.Kept reading what others wrote for support.Success stories were coming out more than failures.I wish it was I who was a success at that time.I kept encouraging others to go on to SVR and helped with their sides. Now you can add me to the success list.I am floating right now.Saw my dentist today and asked about the condition of my teeth fearing the meds destroyed them.NO CHANGE.I think I floated out of the building. After finishing tx I returned back to my old self again.I mentioned earlier that my blood tasted different. Not pungent as before.I knew then I killed my hep.The call today verified that.I wish all of you the best of hope to attain SVR.I will be shaking my pom poms for you.Thank you for all your help and support even at times I didn't deserve it.I was my own worst enemy brought on by the drugs.I joined after my first failure and was angry. But folks here changed all that.Even in brain fog.For those having a tough time, ask the folks here of your problems. My dr. wasn't much help with my sides. But I called him often to keep him informed of my condition.Thank you all and I love you all.MIKE

Congratulations, Mike! Your story is so inspiring. I finished tx 6 1/2 weeks ago & have been thinking about my 6 month lab a lot. The depression from the meds messed my mind up so bad I didn't even realize I had been cleared after my 24 week tx. I know I still have to do the 6 month but you are living proof tx works. Thanks for sharing the great news!

I chose Can man for my best answer because he kept me in line when I was being BAD.Thank you Can man.On to SVR for all and hopefully the new meds will have less side effects.

Thanks for posting this! So important for others to read, and though the first times you treated it failed - you finally reached your SVR! That's great and that you never gave up the fight, it's inspiring and encouraging to others :) this is what makes people continue the fight, reading posts like this.

Your job is important to others and sharing is the best way to help others. I did not get a lot of help from my doc / nurse as well. I found answers and help from you guys. I join in and can't say it often enough: THANK YOU!
