You guys (and girls) are all really funny!
My take is.........what was an underage girl doing in that bar and how much was her's and the bars fines?
I do agree that Ben was not charged or convicted. I never met the man myself but many people that have said he was a conceited butt-hole.

"Do people really care this much about hockey if they live in America?"
Oh yeah...not anywhere close to baseball of course, but in your more northern wintery type States, I would say they do. Boston Bruins, Philadelphia Flyers, New York Rangers, Buffalo Sabres, Pittsburgh Penguins to name some ... and Chicago Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup this year. You ask people in those cities how much they care about hockey!! Then there's all those expansion teams in the south that Bettman is trying to keep afloat....
My take on Ben:
Ben was not only not convicted - he wasn't charged. I know the NFL has its own rules but the presumption of innocence until proven guilty certainly took a back seat to politics. I mean really what did they rely on? That he was in a bar and it was a bad reflection on the NFL. He got suspended for 6 games but that may be reduced to 4 games.
Vince Young very recently punched a guy because the guy gave him a hand gesture. And there is film of it. Now, that's probably not the type of behavior that reflects well on the NFL. How many games do you think he'll be force to sit out? I'm guessing NONE.
Mike
I'm not a baseball fan, probably because the Pirates stink......................but hockey and football...........hockey only when we (along with Sid) are in the playoffs and Pittsburgh Steelers anytime......................Ole Big Ben has a lot of proving to do if he wants fan support but I still think he is good
Ah we have Derek Jeter and you can't have him ;)
I never get the Bosox/NY game tickets - they are like gold around here, the tiptop executives get them. My boss cleaned out his office but the last last thing up is his Jeter poster (not all his autographed shirts and Mickey Mantle autographed baseballs and stuff but a Jeter poster) so I figure until that poster comes down my job is still secure (as of today I think but I remain positive!)
God knows I love those $45 hotdogs and $92 draft beers - just being in the stadium on a warm summer night with the wind blowing and the Anthem being sang, true Americana..............can't beat that for any price. :)
I would die for tickets myself ny. I love baseball and the BoSox.
I still remember going to Fenway with my Dad as a kid and the fights between the NY and Boston fans.
The thrill of the game; a good fight; a hotdog and a cold beer. Doesn't get much better than that.
Trin
Do people really care this much about hockey if they live in America? All I know its it's the Subway Series this weekend and my boss has the tickets and I want them dammit! Oh to be rich whoa is me (atlhough it's gonna be mad hot in the 1pm Stadium this weekend I can say that for sure!)
You added Sid to this conversation and he has no reason to be here, thank goodness. If I'm not mistaken the hockey players mentioned are all in Pittsburgh
Cheeze whiz? That's just cheese or processed cheese - isn't it? "
Actually I make mac n cheese from scratch however my son really loves that cheese whiz stuff and whenver we pack a cooler for the beach I have to buy it.
By the way I think i'ts pizza for lunch day today here in case anybody cares. ;-O
Rocker sure has rubbed off on us...
Cheeze Whiz tastes like the foil package of cheese sauce that you are talking about with Velveeta.
We all get such a great education on here don't we?
Love it.
Diane
Cheeze whiz? That's just cheese or processed cheese - isn't it?
What about the macaroni? I think the Kraft Dinner contains a powdered cheese that you add to the macaroni while Velveeta has a foil package of cheese sauce or paste that you squeeze out over the how pasta.
I cannot recall what Cheeze Whiz tastes like.
Mike
I haven't been upset in the slightest, Mike. If anything, it's been mildly amused.
Really, Mike .. I don't think Sid would care nearly as much as some seem to about keeping score on this forum at all. I'm sure he can think of better ways to direct his energies...and his scoring abilities. I'd rather have Sid's trophies and I'm sure so would he.
Thank you for your kind comments, Mike. It means so incredibly much to me, particularly coming from you.
I prefer old cheddar. To each his own cheese.
Trish
I prefer cheeze whiz - just goes to show ;)
Oh boy. I'm wrong again - I have been informed that Kraft makes Velveeta. I did not know that.
Mike
Golly, I sure didn't mean to upset you so much.
I apologize Trish. You're a very important asset here and I, for one, appreciate your deep well of knowledge and your willingness to share that knowledge patiently and eloquently.
And I agree with you about Sid and Mario. But as good as Sid is, and even with the help of Mario, I seriously doubt he could outscore the threadmaster in threads started. It's simply not Sid's bailiwick. As great as he is he'd be like a fish out of water. It's imperative to always keep context in mind.
Be well,
Mike
PS: I prefer Velveeta over Kraft.
You need to capitalize that, Portann. It's... The Great One. :) Gretzky, Lemieux, Crosby...each in a class of their own and deserving of their own individual regard. Wayne was quite the phenom in his own right and I'm also a big fan of The Great One. I like it quite a bit that Lemieux has taken Crosby under his wing and that Sid lives at Mario's house. What a great mentor for Sid. Mario is all class.
Man, Canada produces some great hockey players. We know how to make something out of all that ice and snow, that's for sure. I remember playing road hockey on Saturdays with all the kids on the street and then all the kids piling back into my grandmother's kitchen for Kraft Dinner and hot chocolate. Those were great times.
Apologies....THAT ... was directed to mikesimon. While his comment was directed to YOU, it referenced things I said, so I commented. It came right after his post and directed to him. I didn't pick up that you didn't pick that up.
Trish
It doesn't matter if Sidney Crosby is on the ice or off, he's fantastic. His maturity is amazing.
What a phenomenon. I like him so much better than the great one.
Let me rephrase my question. Who is this directed at on this public forum? It is specific and directed at someone...........theoretically
**** I've seen your posts rather upset at some of the things posted on the medical side so I'd say mandatory is according to what your posting if I go by your protests.

It's a public forum. Therefore, theoretically, everybody and nobody.
