We bought the bed, head board, foot board and frame, oh yea, we went up to a king size
Mikesimon, I bet we are close to what you spent & it better be worth it. Wednesday delivery and we can't wait.
You get 90 days to see if you like it - if it's the Tempurpedic. That will give you plenty of time to decide. I hated paying that much for a mattress and the support foundation but I can say it was worth every cent. I already had a king bed so I didn't need that - thankfully.
Mine has a pillow top - I think it's called the Celebrity. I didn't go for the pillows. I like the down filled pillows just fine.
Sleep well,
Mike
Be careful, the tempuric foams give off a toxic gas...make sure you can return if you feel the fumes are too much too handle.Did you do any research on petrolem made foams?
Understanding Memory Foam Dangers
lot of people realizing the superior sleep - health benefits with Quality Memory Foam products are still very skeptical about how theyÂ’re made and if the mattresses are safe. They worry, not only for them and their spouses but for the increasing popularity of getting their kids into these sleep systems sooner than later. There have certainly been many issues with the materials and chemicals that are associated with the production of some of these products, but understanding these issues will help you realize that you and your family can enjoy the comfort and health benefits of Quality Memory Foam, if you know what to look for.

Did you know that natural latex foam mattresses, made from the
latex sap of the rubber tree, are a much safer alternative to
the popular memory foam mattresses? Memory foam mattresses, like
most commercially available mattresses, are made from petroleum
based polyurethane foam, an extremely flammable material. Known
as "solid gasoline" by firefighters, the polyurethane foam in
most commercially available mattresses burns so furiously that
strict new fire resistance standards have been written into law,
starting with California in 2005 and going nationwide in 2006.
These strict new fire resistance standards are being met by
tripling the amount of fire retardant chemicals, called PDBEs,
that are added to manufacture memory foam mattresses and
mattress toppers.
Latex is the one you want....i had a temp pillow and when i ran my air cond it turned into a rock
Does anyone read this stuff? Seriously, I really wonder about that.
I assume it's the same old stuff but since I can't bear to read it I really don't know - neither do I care.
Blind Deaf Mike
I can't bear to read it either. Its just too inane.
Rocker, I honestly researched all that. It was the most comfortable and expensive bed in the store. The one I picked was a quarter of the price, I just knew I should have never let hubby lay on that king size wonderful bed.

Denise
Finally after years of sleeping on a bed that kept falling down every time I moved (so I had to just lay without moving) I got myself a cheapo at Bob's Discount Furniture but it was really pretty.
Biggest bestest treat in the universe just to be able to plop on my bed and go to sleep and roll around.................and sleep and roll over and sleep............instead of going oh no PLEASE platform don't crumble and then having my son have to come in and dig me out of the bed so I don't kill myself.
YOU ARE GONNA BE SO HAPPY NO MATTER WHICH KIND YOU GOT.............IT'S GONNA BE LIKE HEAVEN AND BELIEVE ME I'M SOOOOOOOOO POOR I KNOW HEAVEN WHEN i FIND IT! :)
(i don't have a tempurpedic bed but I do have the memory foam pillow......thought it would be totally awesome but in truth I like my little smushy pillow even more - it's more fun to punch and smush and get into just the right shape).
And it doesn't turn into a rock no matter how high I turn on the AC!
YAY for you whooo hooooooo.
"natural latex foam mattresses"
I'm allergic to latex I wonder what would happen if I slept on that one?
Thanks Deb, we have been crying , moaning about our mattress for about 13 years. They replaced it once a long time ago. We are not rich by any means but had a substancial windfall and a "Good" bed was one of the things we both agreed on. It is coming today, I even got to get new bedding cause we went up a size, from queen to king. The damn bedding is expensive!!! and he wants 800 thread count sheets..........NOT. I refuse to spend that much on sheets, I'm cheap and he is the spender LOL.
It will be nice to not roll into his side cause of the divits.
Denise, check Bed Bath & Beyond for good deals on the high thread count sheets. If you don't care too much about color you can usually find a sale on the 600 count sheets, which are really smooth and silky. I've gotten queen sets in the $40-50 range during their sales!
Anyone know anything about luxorlinens? The price is too good - 1200 thread count Egyptian cotton.
Mike
Oh god I hope hubby does not read this thread. I just paid a fortune for 800 thread count, at least it was by one and get one free at Kohls.
By saying the price is too good, how much are we talking?
Denise
When it comes to the bedroom, I'm coming down on the side of latex every time. I take it leather wan't an option?
".. so I had to just lay without moving "
That sounds like a likely excuse from here...
"Biggest bestest treat in the universe just to be able to plop on my bed and go to sleep ............instead of going oh no PLEASE "
uh-huh see,,,,
we love ya girl...
After raving about my new mattress my friend said it best,
"shoe, tires, mattress."
closeoutlinens.com I find some really good stuff on there and you know I'm the brokest broke of the brokes. Not 800 count stuff of course but heck it's nice if you don't have money and need new sheets! Although they could have them on there I just probably never looked!
OK today is September 3rd..............I think Denise is still in bed. I wonder if we'll see her for the next few days or if she's taken a picnic basket and just camped out!
Luxury is getting in to bed and not having it fall down! Woo hoo!

Mike
What is the price on Queen sets? What is the return policy? Hey, everybody's sales are down these days and there are some deals to be had!
No Denise is still not in bed, the damn roosters got me up at 6:00am. Anybody want some roosters for fresh stew? I had to come down on the couch and sleep for 2 more hours.
Deb, I remember as kids we used to jump on our beds and the slats would give out. Your story reminded me of that and I just had to laugh. My daughter (step) used to just put the mattress and box springs on the floor / no frame & with nice bedding (bed in a bag + extra pillows.) it actually looked pretty good.
Goof, I have nothing against leather --I have the jackets, chaps, pants, skirts, boots and a shirt but I think a leather mattress would be kinda hot. My couch is leather come to think of it and I have slept on there quite a few times.....Nice try tho LOL
