I am ready to start traveling myself.  This is the 16th week on the Vertex trial and now the visits are every 4 weeks.  We are going to Maine and renting a cabin on the ocean in a remote place.  I don't have much energy, but I will try and take short walks every day and read lots of books.

If I am off the meds in October, we will fly to San Diego and take a slow drive to Seattle.     My cousin will fly down from Anchorage and meet us there.

If I need to stay on the meds for another 24 weeks, then we will rent a place in Norwalk CT for October and November and then off to Florida for the winter.  In Florida I will just sulk and be miserable wishing I was sailing instead of feeling sick.

Rock on! LOL!

Hey --- I'm hitting up London/Amsterdam/Paris in Oct 2008... We've been meticulously planning it, my husband's son and I for the last year... (It's his birthday present)

And have a friend in the Phillipines who is dying to have me go with her back home to meet her family and friends --- Might check that place out in Jan 2009 - we'll see how I feel.

Figure it's time to travel in my life --- now that I have it back. Yanno?

Might just have to go sailing!

Hmmmm... I'll have to think on that one... cause we usually nibble on a huge batch for like 2 days around my house...

Or I'll freeze them - uncooked - and then toss them in the fryer.

Hmmmm...

I like a whipped cream Jello Gelatin pie...

(VERY SIMPLE) ANY FLAVOR (our faves are blueberry and Raspberry and Lime)

And you have to EYEBALL the mixture... so add more water or stuff as you go...

2 boxes Jello Gelatin - use just a little under half the amount of water for Jiggler recipe...  Boil - stir... Cool down --- not too cool - or it will harden...

Put  2 tubs of whipped cream (any variety will do --- but I like the creamy kind) thawed first... into a mixing bowl..

Fold in the Cooked Gelatin --- stir....

Try not to eat it...

Pour/spoon mixture into pre-made pie dish (graham cracker crust is yummers)...

And well --- there you go... Chill it --- and voila --- desert!

You can use a Jello one for vanilla or chocolate like that ---- just substitute milk and don't scald the milk!

Ahh -- there you go... Desert.

Bill-a patient and resident of the nursing home, I'll be glad to introduce you!. I had been very patient with trying to teach him to walk after his stroke but kinda lost it after he pulled that stunt. He left the shirt he'd been wearing earlier during therapy. What a creep. I guess being "young" and in a nursing home can cause some control issues. He's 10 yrs older than me, but young compared to the general population.
Hope you enjoy the class your taking. No way could I have learned anything new on tx. I was just trying to remember what I already knew.....like names....how to use a cell phone.....how to spell....what day it was.....how to finish a sentence.
You're awesome for working so hard to beat this disease and still here to help others. So don't even think of drifting off either!
hugs,
Bug
Meki: Girl you can cook! I'm excited to read that recipe and I have a full stomach right now too. Can you post a dessert to go with it???

Ladybug-

Wow, and I thought I was a kinky dude… think this guy gives lessons? (sounds like a guy, but you weren’t quite explicit enough :o). He might be the same fellow we had out here in Cali years ago that they found in the State park outhouses. Seems women were reporting a man in a wet suit and snorkel hiding in the tank portion of the wee chateau. We inhabit this planet with some seriously strange people, I’m so sorry to hear you had to be introduced to one of them. A co-worker or patient? Really good to hear from you- you’re needed around here, so don’t even think about drifting off anywhere, OK? I’ll be looking for more of your words in the future-

Bill

Meki- Halibut poppers sound killer. I used to drive down the Kenai to day fish for halibut out of Seward. We’d leave the big’uns for the tourists, and bring home the ten pound ‘chickens’. Tasty things, huh? Oh, by the way, although I’d marry you for the poppers alone, all the talk about chandelier monkey-sex definitely caught my attention too (details to be discussed later, LOL!). For real though, you’re contributions to this forum are a wonderful gift; keep up the good work, K?
