Another test at 1 year post EOT is mainly for individual peace of mind. I was told that I did not need a 1 year post EOT VL test, but I got one anyway for peace of mind.
Your situation is different, however, because you never had a 24 week post EOT VL test. Your doctor ordered an 18 week post EOT VL instead. So you do need this 1 year test to verify that you have attained SVR.
