SVR!!!
It’s official! I got my 6-month UND test results back today. From past experience with the lab, I was pretty sure the results would be in today, so I wore red shoes (and red underwear for good measure) to work. Unfortunately, the nurse called while I was riding in an airboat through the swamp, so I had to call her back later when I could hear again and my hands thawed - just one last bit of torture :P
Started 48 weeks TX after having HCV for I think 12 years (8 years after being diagnosed), genotype 1a with a viral load of 500,000, no biopsy, and weighing 250 lbs at 5'7". Cleared after 4 weeks of TX with 180 Pegasys/1200 Ribavirin. Been fat and clear of the virus ever since then. Lots of SX, but none so bad that I could not make it to work (though they may have been better off without me as bad as my mental state was).
I really want to thank everyone here for helping me stick with TX until the end, answering all of my questions, and listening to all of my waffling. You guys are the best, and I don’t know if I could have made it to the end without your support. I’m sure glad I didn’t have to try it =D
