Thanks a lot! I have been und since week 4 on incivek, I like my chances, but anything can happen...Mark
Hope this time works for you Mark, 3 1/2 yrs and counting? and I thought I felt like a guinea pig lab rat....
Best of Luck!!!
That would be 31/2 years...
Wow, so far we are all over the map. I think that it is indicative of the lack of early protocols, Under today's futility rules, I would have treated for only a few months instead of the 31/2 I did early. Also, my doc always talked in months, not weeks...Mark
My hubby has treated three times:
1) 2007: Pegylated interferon and Ribavirin (1200), 12 weeks, failed
2) 2010: Consensus interferon (daily) and Ribavirin (1400), 12 weeks, failed
3) Pegylated interferon, Ribavirin (1200), and Incivek, 26 weeks, failed
50 weeks total of treatment between 2007 - present.
Advocate1955
2 - 48wk tx's 1 - 38wk tx - If my fingers and toes are correct that would be 134wks total....
relapsed and breakthroughs so hopefully hang around long enough to do it again.... can't wait cause tx is so much fun.... ( not )
to be continued....
I was treatment naive; had HCV for what amounted to be 37 years before my dx. Did 24 weeks triple with incivek. I am nearly 3 months post eot.
I did 48 weeks of pegsasys and riba the 1st. time, 16 weeks of peg/riba the 2nd, and 48 weeks of peg-intron, riba, and victrellis the 3rd. I am SVR now.
56 weeks with Pegasys and Ribavirin in 2005/6 and 48 weeks with PegIntron and Ribavirin and Victrelis in 2011/12.
I hope that is all I have to do!
Hello I treated 43 weeks the first time with polymerase inhibitor,(R1626) pegy, and riba, trial was stopped so I was pulled off
2nd time 24 weeks with Incivek, pegintron, riba
I am SVR, I would say the pegintron was the worse
Feels like I lost 4 years from 2008 on
First time I started in 2005, treated for 86 weeks, second time with victrelis was for 48 weeks. 134 total weeks .
Hmmm, the difficulty with answering is in trying to remember all the details! I have treated 3 times altogether. The first time was back around 1994 with interferon injections alone, for 3 months. The second time was 2005-2006, for 18 months with pegalated interferon plus ribavirin. The third time was triple tx with Incivek for 48 weeks and ending late last month. I think that adds up to about 32 months altogether, or 2-3/4 years. It's been a pretty big chunk of my life. I hope my 12 and 24 week PCR tests come back UND so I can be finally done with this virus!
one year: 6 months mono-therapy 1992. 6 months peg/riba 2008. SVR (12 months isn't going to add much on idyllic; compared to others I'm a novice)!!
Call me nosy but I was hoping more people responded to this post. I know there are some folks on here who have treated multiple times. I bet a few totals add up to years and years.
I did 32 weeks the first time. And 24 weeks post transplant.
I see the confusion, I don't remember what the non-pegleted interferon was called, but it obviously isn't pegitron. it was in 99 I think...Mark
After 5 months on pegatron was when ribivirin came available and I did 18 months on the combination...Mark
Thanks for responding. When I treated the first time, pegleted was definitely NOT available. In my post I say when pegleted came available, I treated again...Mark
I treated for 3.5 years and am SVR.
If you treated with Pegylated interferon then ribavirin was definitely available.
I treated the first time with regular interferon - injections 3x per week - and ribavirin was available then too. That was in 2000.
