Sooo I started to date a girl who has hepatitis c

I started to date a girl who has hepatitis C, and I really like her. She's fun, smart, really pretty. But I have this underlying fear of catching the virus... I know the chances are slim. We've only kissed intensely a few times, and had minor minor foreplay (hand job, not oral). I really want to take things slow, but what risks, actual risks do I have with her? I don't want to reread the websites of how I can and cannot get it, I want someone who can really advise me. Do the pros (her being awesome) out weigh the cons? :-/

Wait, when you say treatment that can rid her of the virus, do you mean a cure? A cure that can rid her of the hepatitis C virus??
By the way, in response to your first reply, I really do appreciate the advice. I do like her, I think she is wonderful. I am just nervous is all. This is all entirely new to me.

Also, there is current and future treatment that can rid her of the virus so then this wouldn't even be an issue.

I guess its natural to have this underlying fear you talk about. You say you've read all the sites about risk factors and want someone to "really" advise you...well, I was married for 9 years and did a lot more than "kiss intensely". My now ex wife dis not catch the virus from me. There are many others on this forum that will tell you the same story.

If you really like this girl like you say....continue to educate yourself about the virus and be there for her. It is a very slim chance of catching it through intercourse....so slim, the medical field tell couples that the risk is so low that in monogamous relationships, protection isn't recommend.

Wish you the best.
