Read all you can about the disease -  you may want to research the archives of this forum or check out a few websites:

www.hcvadvocate.org

Questions are not a problem and most people will jump right in with advice but you need to educate yourself as well.  The more you know about the disease and available treatments, the better off you are when it comes to making decisions regarding your future.

Ask all the questions you want. That is what this forum is for. Tx is treatment. If you scroll down to the bottom right corner you will see Common Hepatitis C Acronyms. Click on that. It will define all the Acronyms for you. In no time at all you will speaking “HCV Lingo.”
HCV only has 2 stages Acute and Chronic. How ever, there are several stages of Liver damage

If you scroll down to the bottom-right of this page to 'Most Viewed Health Pages' you'll see a link for 'Common Hepatitis C Aconyms'. TX stand fors 'treatment', the drugs that are prescribed (RX'd) for the disease.  Usually, a combination of a few nasty things to inject and swallow for several months.
But first, need to get to a doc who has a lot of expereince with HepC (also known as HCV) to get a wide range of tests to determine exactly what you're dealing with.  There are several flavors of hcv.  The tests will determine what type you have, general medical condition and specifically any effects to your liver.  HCV is a blood disease but the major impact is to you liver, which is a fairly imprortant organ to watch our for.
