The first response for several of us was Alternative Medicine. I wasted a lot of money on “Snake Oil”. Peg/Riba is the only treatment available. Don’t be taken in by these “Snake Oil Salesmen” (may there be a special place in Hell for them). If you are Gen. Type1, new meds will be soon coming out but they will be added to Peg/Riba. If you don’t have major liver damage and Gen. Type1, I suggest you discuss with your Dr. the possibility of waiting.
If there was a med with less side effects everyone would take it.
Unfortunetly many people waste their time with herbs, and vet treatments only to realize Peg/Riba is the only answer.
Hi Everyone
Thinking of starting pegintron/ribavirin therapy---2 many sides---anything better? help!
i have often advised folks to plan ahead for treatment in order to be well informed and ready in every way. in your case i think you should try to stay in the moment for a bit and start reading up on injections maybe in late july. hang in there mike, babs
I used to do my shots in my thighs. No, doing the shot doesn't hurt.
Also, if you search Pegasys vs Pegintron on this or the hep c forum, you will find some answers. It seems that the two different brands hit you on different days after the shot. I was on Pegasys and it would be the worst about 3 -4 days after the shot.
If I remember correctly, people who were on Pegintron were hardest hit the day of or the day after the injection
Shots - abdomen or thigh (diabetics do it everyday and they don't die do they?)
Best Time - many do their shot on Friday PM so they can rest through the weekend but you should gauge your shots according to your schedule and what will best suit you.
You know Mike, if you read the archives in this forum you will find many posts and opinions about shots, times and side effects. Do you have something against reading? You just don't like it?

It doesn't hurt at all. It's a tiny needle, and the injection is subcutaneous. You Can also inject in your thigh. You need some fat to inject into. It comes with explicit directions. I went to my PCP the first time and the nurse dialed me in.
